Alleged exploitation of journalists, inap- propriate misuse of funding from Anglo America and mismanagement at a new Tzaneen community newspaper, The Tribe, has been denied by its owner, Mr Abel Mongwe — and he threatened the Bulletin to “leave me alone” and “don’t mess with me in any way whatsoever”. Mongwe’s wife, Ms Tantaswa Jozana, is a senior employee of Anglo American’s Sebenza Fund. It is alleged that funds meant for the newly established newspaper, having only published four (4) editions since No- vember-December last year, were rather used to purchase luxury cars, pay a de- posit on a house in Aqua Park and to buy gymnasium equipment for the launch- ing of OMG Health and Fitness Gym in Nkowankowa. We met with Mongwe yesterday (Thurs- day), aſter he had initially refused to talk to us. On Wednesday he said that he knew about the Bulletin and he did not want to have anything to do with us. We told him that we wanted to give him an opportu- nity to tell his side of the story. Yesterday he called again and said he wanted to meet with us. He said that his company (The Tribe) had never been spon- sored by Anglo American and allegations that R2 million in grant money had been allocated to the newspaper is not true. He also gave assurance that the news- paper will be published again later during the year, as he is still waiting for the Media Diversity and Development Agency to review his propos- al. “The reason we have not been publishing is due to the fact that the MDDA asked to review four of our published editions before they could as- sist us with funding. This was emphati- cally denied (yester- day) by the MDDA’s acting project direc- tor, Mr Lindi Nkosi. “Mongwe’s claim of ‘four publications before funding’ is not one of our cri- teria. We only fund established busi- nesses. We also don’t have a pen- ding application and we don’t know (of) a Mr Monge. On the issue of a number of the newspa- per’s staff members who told us that they were not paid as per their agreements with Mongwe he said, “I can confirm that all my staff were paid in full for the work they produced”. According to reliable sources, who wish not to be named for fear of victimisation, they were not surprised that the paper was not doing as well as it had promised them. They allege that they were under- paid, contrary to the agreement they had with their employer. “We had agreed on R100 per photo and R2 per centimeter-col- umn, but were surprised when we were told at a later stage that we will only get R50 per photo and R1,50 per cm/col”, said a source. However, when Mongwe was asked about this, he said: “There are only two people who have not received their salary as a result of financial strain, but we are working on seling it as soon as possible. I however, cannot be dragged into any dealings with Anglo or even my wife for that maer”. The majority of those who worked for The Tribe are said to be desperately look- ing for employment, while others are still hoping the newspaper’s financial woes will be resolved so they can get back to their work. Anglo American’s Louwrens de Jager (at AA’s head office in Johannesburg) could not confirm any investigation into AA’s al- leged sponsorship of The Tribe yesterday. He confirmed that Jozana is an employee of Anglo. “We are not aware of these al- legations, but we will immediately mobi- lise our security personnel to look into the maer,” he said. “Anglo will not allow or accept any mis- conduct and/or abuse of grant money for community projects. We are not aware of any grant to The Tribe, but our se- curity personnel will investigate this thing thoroughly,” De Jager said. Mongwe warned us that should we publish any story in- volving his wife or anything other than what he told us, he will take action against the Bulletin. Transcript of Bulletin 150213

Alleged exploitation of journalists, inap-propriate misuse of funding from Anglo America and mismanagement at a new Tzaneen community newspaper, The Tribe, has been denied by its owner, Mr Abel Mongwe — and he threatened the Bulletin to “leave me alone” and “don’t mess with me in any way whatsoever”.

Mongwe’s wife, Ms Tantaswa Jozana, is a senior employee of Anglo American’s Sebenza Fund.

It is alleged that funds meant for the newly established newspaper, having only published four (4) editions since No-vember-December last year, were rather used to purchase luxury cars, pay a de-posit on a house in Aqua Park and to buy gymnasium equipment for the launch-ing of OMG Health and Fitness Gym in Nkowankowa.

We met with Mongwe yesterday (Thurs-day), after he had initially refused to talk to us. On Wednesday he said that he knew about the Bulletin and he did not want to have anything to do with us. We told him that we wanted to give him an opportu-nity to tell his side of the story.

Yesterday he called again and said he wanted to meet with us. He said that his company (The Tribe) had never been spon-sored by Anglo American and allegations that R2 million in grant money had been allocated to the newspaper is not true.

He also gave assurance that the news-paper will be published again later during the year, as he is still waiting for the Media Diversity and Development Agency to review his propos-al. “The reason we have not been publishing is due to the fact that the MDDA asked to review four of our published editions before they could as-sist us with funding.

The majority of those who worked for The Tribe are said to be desperately look-ing for employment, while others are still hoping the newspaper’s financial woes will be resolved so they can get back to their work.

Anglo American’s Louwrens de Jager (at AA’s head office in Johannesburg) could not confirm any investigation into AA’s al-leged sponsorship of The Tribe yesterday. He confirmed that Jozana is an employee of Anglo. “We are not aware of these al-legations, but we will immediately mobi-lise our security personnel to look into the matter,” he said.

“Anglo will not allow or accept any mis-conduct and/or abuse of grant money for community projects. We are not aware of

any grant to The Tribe, but our se-curity personnel will investigate this thing thoroughly,” De Jager said.

• Mongwe warned us that should we publish any story in-volving his wife or anything other than what he told us, he will take action against the Bulletin.

Anglo investigatesthe alleged spending of “a R2m grant” by the shortlived “The Tribe” newspaper in Tzaneen, after allegations of mismanage-ment and failure to pay agreed salaries and fees to employees

Aanhouer wen!

Dale Kenney Haven’t been rude to me at all but yes, they do stop where they want

to.....the most frustrating stop is at the three way intersection just before Macadamia also the stop on Boundary Street as they block access into our offices...it’s crazy...when the bus is in front of me I make a plan to get ahead. I feel for all the workers livings in our

area they wake up so early and walk miles to get to work on time. It would be sad to see this service taken away from them BUT Bus Stops must be arrange properly before a terrible accident happens

Melanie Brass  Why don’t these bus companies arrange a set pick up and drop

of bus stop area? Would make things a lot

easier for everybody...

For thousands of years ago it was known to the sorcerers of ancient India, Babylon, and Egypt, as well as of Greece and Rome, and at this day it is still resorted to by cunning and malignant savages in Australia, Africa, and Scotland. Thus the North American In-dians, we are told, believe that by drawing the figure of a person in sand, ashes, or clay, or by considering any object as his body, and then pricking it with a sharp stick or doing it any other injury, they inflict a correspond-

ing injury on the person represented. For example, when an Ojebway In-dian desires to work evil on any one, he makes a little wooden image of his enemy and runs a needle into its head or heart, or he shoots an arrow into it, believing that wherever the needle pierces or the arrow strikes

the image, his foe will the same instant be seized with a sharp pain in the correspond-ing part of his body; but if he intends to kill the person outright, he burns or buries the puppet, uttering certain magic words as he does so. The Peruvian Indians molded im-ages of fat mixed with grain to imitate the persons whom they disliked or feared, and then burned the effigy on the road where the intended victim was to pass. This they called “burning his soul.”

Vlieg was nogal besig.

Busses from (mainly) Great North Transport are causing a great deal of anger and frustration amongst motorists going to and coming from work along Adshade Street, Aqua Ave and Pieter Joubert Street. Not only do they disrupt traffic by parking in the road as they please, but they are quick to reply with finger and verbal insults or threats to irate motorist that are blocked in on both sides of the road. Do you have any experience thereof — if so, what do you have to say about it?

The attempts by minister Pravin Gordhan to bring Mal-amulele to normality have failed, as the community took another resolution to continue the shutdown until their claim for a stand-alone municipality is heard.

Gordhan and a number of other high ranking leaders met several stakeholders in Malamulele. Gordhan explained several options that could be considered to improve service delivery in their area.

However, when the com-munity task team presented

the options to the people on Sunday it was rejected.

Meanwhile schools and businesses remain closed in and around Malamulele. Even the Spaza shops in the villages remain closed. Pub-lic buildings, amongst oth-ers a high school, have been damaged by protesters. In some cases buildings have burnt down.

Roads in the area have be-come unsafe, since protes-tors set up road blocks where they claim “toll” fees from motorists — and in some cas-es vehicles have been stoned.

Marula fruit is more than just the ele-phants’ favourite fruit; it is an economic drive with a huge boost for rural women around the Mopani district who brew it for commercial purposes.

To kick-start this year’s drive, the MEC for Economic Development, Environ-ment, and Tourism, Mr Seaparo Sekoati, launched the tenth Marula Festival, an event that benefits not only rural women who brew Marula beer, but also local busi-ness people around the Phalaborwa area.

According to Sekoati, about R40m is generated during the annual Marula festival. “In a small town like this, that amount of money makes a huge dif-

ference to ordinary people running small businesses,” he said. This year women from the thirteen co-operatives around Phalaborwa will benefit from the sale of 12 000 litres of Marula beer for pub-lic consumption by the revellers during the festival, from 20-28 February.

The festival has been growing steadily year after year, also drawing more and more people from neighbouring African

countries. This has resulted in a need to change the venue to something bigger. “Last year I promised that a new venue should be found and I will announce it in September,” said Sekoati.

Phalaborwa Mayor Anna Sono, Marula beer brewer Grace Mok-homole, MEC Seaparo Sekoati, Josephina Hlungwani and Bibi Kotsedi, the acting CEO of Limpopo Tourism are seen here

tasting a fresh batch of Marula beer.

Police officers are seen rushing to ascertain the cause of yet another building being on fire during the recent visit of minister

Pravin Gordhan and the Police minister in Malamulele.

Malamulele community to continue with shutdown

The issue of Malamulele getting its own municipality remains vague, despite numerous visits by the minister for Cooperative Governance, Housing and Traditional Affairs, Mr Pravin Gordhan.

Malamulele is still in a state of chaos and four high schools have been severe-ly damaged by fire. Other government buildings as well as private property have also been destroyed or damaged by fire.

“The kind of demand by this commu-nity is one that will take time to resolve,” said Gordhan when he was asked about the progress of his negotiations with the churches and community stakeholders,

Gordhan said the government started a process to review all municipalities around the country and reduce those that were not financially viable, so that by 2016 there would be fewer municipalities.

He said the government wants “to de-velop a package” that would suit the community of Malamulele in terms of service delivery. “We want to get an in-dependent audit done and the task team will come back to us on these issues and say how we could proceed in order to make progress in this area,” he said.

The MEC for COGHSTA in Limpopo, Ms Makoma Makhurupetje, said the

provincial government was committed to finding a quick solution for Malam-ulele. “From the provincial government we’ve committed ourselves to dealing with both the issue of the demarcation board and service delivery, in order to get the situation in Malamulele to return to normal as soon as possible,” she said.

When asked about a plan to avoid people burning down schools around Malamulele, Police minister Nkosinathi Nhleko said the Police were employing special investigations to tract down the suspects, since this was not being done by a mob but rather by individuals.

Will Malamulele get own municipality?

The war against rhino poaching needs collective involvement between the Kruger National Park and the communities alongside the park, accor- ding to Sanpark’s Maj Gen Johan Jooste, the commanding officer of special projects.

Speaking during a handover of R170 000 which were donated by various stakeholders, Jooste said increasing the number of rangers in the park was not an option since it would add to the cost of maintaining the park. “We would

need to accommodate them and pay their sala-ries and all other logistics,” he said.

“We need more intelligence and the support from the communities, because if the poachers are not welcome in the community they won’t be effective in their attacks,” he said.

The main donor was Mr Frank Haas, who do-nated R70 000, followed by the Polokwane Ro-tary Club with R40 000. The rest of the money was donated by several other stakeholders in-cluding Sanpark’s honorary rangers.

Jooste said the funds would be used for heli-copter fuel. “With our heli’s constantly in the air, the money for the fuel is running out, more so because Kruger is so big that we spend some R3m on helicopter fuel per year,” he said.

Some seventy people gathered at Twig’s Decadent Cupcakes in Tzaneen for the ‘Coffee for Marcelle Day’ on Saturday morning. Marcelle van Vuuren, owner of a hair salon in Tzaneen, and her friend Car-la Swart, a well known cyclist, were involved in a head-on-collision near Soekmekaar on 20 December. Carla died and Marcelle sustained multiple injuries. Both her legs were amputated above the knees and she’s still in a Pretoria hospital.

Coffee mugs and T-shirts bearing Marcelle’s name

were sold and there was live music. Candles with special holders for Carla were passed around and there was a minute’s silence for her. Mss Dale Ken-ney and Magda Bootha, both members of the Tza-neen Care Group, gave words of encouragement to Marcelle and both families in their speeches.

Marcelle’s mother was with her daughter at the hospital but her father, Mr Dawie van Vuuren, at-tended with his golf team. All were dressed in light blue T-shirts bearing the slogan ‘Healing 4 Marcelle.’

Vandag ver-skyn die

sewende aflewering in ‘n spesiale reeks deur Me Margie van Tonder oor spelterapie. Vandag vra sy of jy jou kind ken. Kontak haar by 084 414 6166 of 015 307 5029 om navraag te doen.

Die derde ouer is aan-vaardend of begryp-end.

Ons Mening The Message

Nasa and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration recently declared 2014 as the hot-test year on earth since record-tak-ing began in 1880.

According to scientists the increase in average temperatures is likely to have a major impact on human health in ways that will reduce productivity and men-tal well-being significantly.

Mariska van Aswegen, spokesperson of Pharma Dynamics — a leading sup-plier of anti-depressants and advocate for mental health in SA — says the av-erage temperatures in Southern Africa have risen by 1,5° C over the past centu-ry as opposed to 0,8° C globally, which poses a more immediate threat for us.

“As SA begins to experience longer and more intense heat waves, so too the degree to which individuals suffer from heat stress will increase and fur-ther compromise mental well-being.”

Several research papers from around the globe confirm the negative impact of heat waves on mental health. The most noteworthy involves a 13-year Australian study which found that ex-treme heat exposure exacerbate symp-toms of dementia, depression and anxi-ety. Admissions to psychiatric hospitals also increased by 64% during periods of prolonged heat exposure.

Van Aswegen notes that the ten hot-test years on record have all occurred since 1998 and that the overall trend is up.

“The sad reality is that the majority of people won’t be able to escape the swel-tering heat in air-conditioned offices. Many will have to continue to brave heat waves in inadequately cooled

homes, offices, schools, construction sites and factories. Not to mention those working outside harvesting in the fields.”

According to Van Aswegen an av-erage temperature of 30° C for two days and longer would be considered a health alert. “If you do experience ill mental health, you need to take ex-tra care of yourself in extremely hot weather conditions. Individuals taking psychotropic medications are at a high-er risk for heatstroke, since these medi-cations can interfere with the body’s ability to regulate heat.

“In extreme hot weather, there is an increased risk of dehydration and over-heating. Exposure to heat and direct sunlight can make symptoms of mental

ill health much worse and can further impair mood and energy levels.”

To keep cool when the mercury is ris-ing, Van Aswegen gives the following advice:

Stay out of the heat and direct sunlight, especially if you have been diagnosed with a mental health condition or experience any side effects from medication; Shut windows and pull down the shades when it is hot-ter outside and then open them when it’s cooler; Keep a spray bottle in the fridge to cool your face and extremities with water or take a cool shower or bath; Ensure you have adequate supplies of medication if extreme hot weather persists; Stay out of the sun and don’t go out between 11:00 and 15:00; If you have to go outdoors, take a bottle of

water with you to stay hydrated and eat small but regular meals; It’s best to seek out air-conditioned public spaces such as a shopping mall or community centre; Wear light and cool clothing.

“Isolation in extreme heat can make symptoms of mental ill health worse. Keep in daily contact with family, friends and neighbours. Those suffer-ing from depression can contact Phar-ma Dynamics’ toll-free helpline on 0800 205 026, which is manned by trained counsellors who are on call from 08:00 to 20:00, seven days a week.

“Should you feel mentally or physi-cally unwell or experience signs of heat stress such as dehydration, dizzi-ness, headaches, changes to breathing, heart rate and blood pressure, nausea, vomiting or cramps, contact your doc-tor immediately,” recommends Van Aswegen.

The Bible instructs us: “Judge not, that you be not judged” yet we so often judge others because they do not fit into our norm. Each of us will form our norms according to what we have been taught or have formulated.

God gave us a free will, we therefore can if we so choose to follow His example or not. By constantly judging others for what they wear, where they come from, what they look like, what religious group they belong to etc. are we truly following Jesus’ example?

How often do we criticize oth-ers often not knowing the full story? “You smoke, thus you are bad”

Life is full of choices and often it is said “Oh if we could only go back to the old days when things were so much better”. Were they really so much better, or was it just a perception that we had? Choosing the correct path is not an easy thing to do as there are so many temptations out there.

There is an old saying “Bet-ter the devil you know, than the devil you don’t” maybe there is a lot of truth in this saying, for we

will know how this person will react to what we say or do. We often form opinions of people by stereo- typing them, putting into little boxes of our own. Do we re-ally know this person?

There is only one person that knows us all and that is God. He knows us intimately. Wow! If we accept Him into our lives and ac-knowledge His power, His love for us then we will be able to see others as He does. With the Holy Spirit living in us we can change for the better. Often people are afraid of change, “this is what I was taught therefore it must be right.”

Changing for the good of oth-ers often helps us through many a crises in our lives, yet it is all about love. We often say we love someone yet do exactly the op-posite, what happens when love turns into despise even hatred? Is God still living within us or are we making excuses?

When we stand before God on judgement day all the truth will be revealed. Will we be prepared to face the consequences to find out that we judged to readily? Prayer is a powerful tool and we all need to pray more often.

Blessings.

Indeed soJ C Fourie wri-tes by e-mail: Thank you for publishing my letter on 6 February 2015.

I see the slogan for your newspaper reads ‘Vreesloos die waarheid’ and I want to share truth today, without fear of consequences.

Today, I want to refer to your ‘Say your Say’ Facebook section on page 2 of your newspaper regarding the coat of arms on school uniforms.

You use the word ‘skoolwapen’ and indeed, it is a weapon. For instance the Buffalo bust on the Ben Vorster coat of arms repre-sents ‘Strength’ and their slogan reads ‘Stry tot oorwinning’ and in fact is a Biblical reference to overcoming obstacles with strength by unified spirit.

You might recall from Bible sto-ries that when Moses descended from the mountain, he found the Israelite people worshipping a golden calf which they con-structed from gold.

The Buffalo bust on the origi-nal coat of arms for Ben Vorster is golden as you can notice on the badge on Principal Chris De-

nysschen’s shirt on page 1 of the 6 February 2015 edition.

You can find the bust at the entrance to Ben Vorster High School and you can find this ex-act bust hanging on top of the entrance door to the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria;http://media.economist.com/sites/default/files/cf_images/columns/2007w50/Johannes-burgThurs.jpg

To conclude, the coat of arms on uniforms enforces ‘Eendrag maak mag’ or ‘Unity is strength’.

Baletas go into making7Bulletin 13 Februarie 2015www.bulletin.us.com Search “Bulletin” Search “Laeveldbulletin”

In a move that has family and friends reeling, well-known Tzaneen farmers and business couple Peter and Maggie Baleta announced that they have bought a cheese farm in the Western Cape. They are relocating to the Western Cape to take over an exciting venture.

Maggie was born in Tzaneen, Peter is from Johannesburg and they moved to Tzaneen when he and Maggie married. The couple farmed in the Letsitele Valley with Maggie’s par-ents, Mike and Monica Amm, for eighteen years. Due to a land claim the family moved from Murlebrook Farms to Valencia Estate, situated on the edge of the Tzaneen Dam and continued farming on a smaller scale. Peter maintains a successful achar business in Nkowankowa.

Maggie, an interior decorator by training, immersed her-self in starting up crèches. She was involved in the start up of the Rural Foundation and started a community organisation called Lesedi.

The couple have three adult children. Hannah studied at UCT and Oxford and has just submitted her doctor-ate in Water Science. Nicholas did his cadetship through Maersk, qualifying recently as a Marine Engineer, and is off to sea soon. Matthew is doing honours in Geology at Stellenbosch University.

Maggie recalls, “In 1997 Peter and I were at the breakfast table discussing our childrens’ education. I didn’t want to send them far away. I suggested we start our own school and phoned Mr Howard Blight. We gathered a group of energet-ic and passionate people from Tzaneen and opened Stanford Lake College in 1998 — the rest is history. I was involved with SLC for fourteen years. I learnt so much at SLC and leave with a great sense of pride, as SLC has developed into a world-class independent high school.”

The couple felt they wanted one last massive challenge in their lives. Opportunity knocked in the strangest way. Last year, on a Mozambican beach, with family friends who farm in the Cape, Peter mentioned that he wanted to remain in agri -processing but needed a change. Maggie was in Namibia in September volunteering for the Desert Knights cycle race when

Peter phoned with news of a possible new venture. Klein River Cheese, which they have bought, is

ironically near a village called Stanford, 25 kilo-meters from Hermanus. Klein River Cheese, es-tablished twenty years ago, makes fourteen varieties of artisanal cheeses. The farm, with a staff of twenty, also

boasts a retail outlet, where locals and visitors can pur-chase their cheese, as well as a picnic shed that caters for picnics during summer.

Klein River Cheese won Dairy Product of the Year in 2014 and two bronze medals at the international cheese compe-tition in 2014. Klein River cheeses are available from Wool-worths, Spar, Checkers, Pick and Pay, Fruit and Veg and speciality delis throughout South Africa. The milk is bought from neighbouring farms.

Previous owners, Shelley and Riaan Lourens, will stay close at hand for a year and will remain the face of the cheese products until the first batches, made by the Baleta family, are ready to roll. Maggie met with the original cheese maker from Germany and consulted with him at Klein River. She also went on a two-day course at Stellenbosch University to learn the chemistry of cheese making. Work starts for the Baletas on 1 March.

Peter loves his Nguni cattle, which have now been sold, but will start a new cattle herd on the new 230 ha Stanford farm. Maggie says that having been born and raised in Tzaneen is a privilege and the family will always consider Tzaneen as ”the centre of the universe”, a common family saying. So it is

with a heavy heart that they are leaving Tzaneen but will often return to visit Maggie’s parents

and cherished extended family and friends.

Maggie, an ac-complished hostess who loves people

adds with a twinkle in her eye, “We hope

to welcome Tzaneen folk at our new home at Klein River Cheese in

the future”. — Sue Ettmayr

Merensky is vanjaar verteen-woordig deur mnre Willie Ste-

During December, some res-cued animals and birds were given a temporary home at the Riverside Wildlife Reha-bilitation Centre in Letsitele. These included a thick tailed bush baby (Otolemur crassi-caudatus), two wood owls (Strix woodfor-

dii) and one spotted eagle owl (Bubo africanus). They were all brought to the Stanford Lake Col-lege property for release, where the habitat is ideally suited to them.

The bush baby was a pet whose owners were no longer able to keep him, and he now is a ful-ly grown adult. One of the wood owls was an orphan who fell out of his nest and dogs killed his mother, whilst the history of the other is not known; however, they are both about the same age of approximately three months. The spotted eagle owl was rescued in the Trichardtsdal area.

Witnessed by a big group of pupils and teachers and some volunteers from Riverside, both the bush baby and the spot-

ted eagle owl were released in different areas of a forest close to Stanford Lake College. On the evening they were released, there was a hard shower of rain, which was a bit of a concern for the owl needing to fly; but the rain eased and both the owl and the bushbaby seemed calm when their boxes were opened and they were set free.

The owl soon got his bearings and was venturing around the forest; whilst the bushbaby was heard

calling about fifty metres from his release box. Their progress will be monitored closely for about two months, after which the boxes will be removed.

Again a small crowd of interested people gathered a couple of eve-nings later when the two wood owls (one male and one female) were re-leased just after sunset. Their box was placed in a tree near the Barn-

yard and other local resident birds immediately rec-ognised their presence and made warning calls.

Both owls were a bit tentative, but eventually took great leaps of faith and flew from their box into near-

by branches and then back and forth to the ‘home’ tree. They have been heard com-municating with one another in the nights following their re-lease, and have been observed looking set-tled. They will also be monitored for two months.

• Releasing these creatures at Stanford is another effort that re-enforces the Go green Eco-schools projects that the school embraces to the full. In this action

of releasing animals back to the wild where they belong, Stanford is teaching the youth to conserve and try and fix what humans take out of nature.

Seuns: Phillemon Madibilala (o.19) vir 110 m-hekkies, 837; Noko Malatji (o.16) 100 m-hekkies, 803; Eddy Roulstone (o.19) 100 m, 792; Rudolph Beetge (o.16) 100 m, 767; Tertius Kruger (o.19) spiesgooi, 756; Delux Jooste (o.16) 3  000 m, 727, Sipho Ntsanwisi (o.19) 100 m, 726; Tlangi Ngobeni (o.15) 300 m-hekkies, 692; Vutomi Mkabele (o.14) 100 m, 688; Quiniso Madzhga (o.16) 400 m, 640.

During a fantastic inter-primary ath-letics meeting at Dr Annecke Primary School in Letsitele, these three athletes from Unicorn Prima-ry in Tzaneen did their school proud. They are Makoma Pilusa (best senior field athlete), Lay-ha Mohamed (best junior girl) and Kian None (best senior

field athlete).

Daai is taktiek, sê Nostro.

There’s no light at the end of the tunnel in

their message, no promise of better things to come. There’s only the present stagnation, followed by a slow decline.” — John Pondhoretz

wedstryd.

Merensky kraai koning in naelbyt-T20

These budding young sports stars from Unicorn Primary School in Tzaneen made it into the Limpopo hockey team for their respective age groups. In front are Kyle Bain, Nicholas Addendorf, Russell Smith and Frank Dyason and behind them are Reuben Middleton, Matshwene

Mojela, Felicia Pilusa, Hloni Mangena and Emma Dalrymple-Hay.

geteken.
