Pre-sanded jamb kits are available in stain or paint grade pine. Simply, cut tolength and install. Jamb kits fit all standard 2x4 wall applications with 6´8˝doors.

Installation Instructions:1. Install Pocket Door Frame

according to instructions. Once

drywall is installed around unit,

measure height “A” (from floor to

bottom of frame header).

2. Open door fully so door is

extended into opening. Cut split

jambs to “B”. Fasten to front edge

of frame. Maintain minimum

3/16˝ clearance on both sides of

door. Raise or lower hanger to

plumb door with split jambs.

3. Shim and plumb strinke jamb

(wide piece) with door.

4. Cut split headers to “C”.

Determine side of hangers with lock

arm and fasten this header with

screws for easy removal. Nail other

side. Maintain 3/16˝ on each side of

travels easily without bindings.

Step 2: Cut Header Assembly

The header assembly does not requirecutting if your Door panelwidth is 36” (91 cm). For shorter widths,cut Header assemblyas follows.

1. size indicators. If your Door dose not correspond withpre-marked sizes (go to Step 3).

2. Cut Track 2” shorter than Header to allow for end Bracket.

NOTE: Header assembly pre-marked Door width.Header markings accommodate inside Trim of Pocket.

Step 3: For Odd Size Doors

A. Cut the nailing strips to the size of the door panel width plus7/8” (2.22 cm). Cut and remove excess strip “X” from themiddle of the assembly, not from the end.

B. At the other end, cut header “Y” to remove twice the amount “X” in step “A”. Cut the track 2” (5.08 cm) shorter than theheader.

Ensure wood is exposed as illustrated

Use 4 - 1-1/2” (d.81 cm) screws

Step 8: Install Split Jamb and StudStand up split Jamb so it butts against nailingstrip, with exposed wood side facing out ondrywall side. Tack the top, plumb the Jamb,and then screw Bracket to the floor. Takeremaining Split Jamb, slide onto the Floor

Bracket prongs and nail to opposite side of header assembly. Repeatprocedure for split stud positioning it in the middle pocket.

Note: Split Jambs are manufactured with a slight bow.

Step 9: Install Bumper

Screw the Bumper to the rough Jamb at the backof pocket with 5/8” screw (1.6 cm) approximately102 cm (40”) from floor. Shim it out, if necessary,so that the front edge of Door will be flush withfront edge of nylon Door guide.

Step 10: Install Temporary Brace (Optional)Insert 1” (25mm) x 2-1/8” (54 mm) boardthrough split Jamb and Stud as shown.Rest the board on top of the Bumper. Thennail a support leg to board as shown. (Thisprovides added stiffness while wallmaterial is being applied). This board willbe removed prior to installing Door. The

pocket may now be enclosed by applying wall sheathing, drywall,paneling, etc. as desired.

Step 11: Install Hangers

Fasten the Hanger Plates on the top of the doorpanel. Hangers must be 7/8” (2.22 cm) in fromthe side edge, as shown

Step 12: Install Adjustable Bolt and Hangers

Slide both Wheel Hanger assemblies intoTrack from the exposed end.

Step 13: Install Door by Lifting and Snapping it in

Installation is accomplished by snapping oneDoor Hanger and then the other. To removedoor, activate tab in direction of white arrowwith a flute back screw driver as shown.

Step 14: Using the Wrench supplied,

turn the adjustment Post so that theDoor is Plumb and has proper floorclearance

Step 15: Install Door Guide

Fasten Door Guide to the split Jamb using 1”Screws with nylon guides projecting into theopening as shown.

Step 16: Install Face Jamb

The face jamb fits between the nailing strip andthe rough floor. Butt the face jamb underneaththe nailing strip and shim for plumb. Nail intoposition.

Step 17: Install Door Pull (Optional)

No Door Pulls are included in this kit,but you may choose from a varietyof Door Pulls and Latch sets which areavailable through your dealer.

Step 18: Install Door Trim

Install Door Stop Trim (as for a Hinged Door)allowing 3/16” (5 mm) clearance between Doorand Stops for possible Door warpage. Stopshould be installed over Door Guide. ApplyDoor casing Trim as you would other Doorinstallations.NOTE: For best performance of your Pocket

Door, the Track should not be painted. If you wish, a silicone lubricantmay be applied for even smoother operation.

How to Install your Bifold DoorsPlease read the complete instructions carefully before you start installation.All instructions apply to any size of bifold door installation.The same instructions also apply to all type of door panels.

1. Door sizingHeight – Make doors 1 5/8˝ less than the net Opening height. Width – Divide netopening width by the number of Door panels (2 or 4) and subtract 1/4˝ to determine the netdoor panel width. For example: A 30˝ opening for a two door bifold requires door panelsthat are 14 3/4˝ wide. (30 ÷ 2 = 15 - 1/4 = 14 3/4˝). A 48” opening with 4 panels requires door panels that are11 3/4˝ wide (48 ÷ 4 = 12 - 1/4 = 11 3/4˝).

2. Install non-mortise hinges to edge of doors 1” or more in thickness. Place panels of foldingdoors side by side with a 5/16˝ spacer between the panels and clamp together. Locate hingesapproximately 6: from each end of doors and at their centers. The leaf position on the door isoptional. Using the hinge as a template drill 3/32˝ holes approximately 7/8˝

3. Drill 7/16˝ diameter holes 1 7/8˝ deep for pivots and guides on center and1˝ from the edge of door.

4. Locate the pivots and guide as shown. Tap parts into the holes with lighthammer blows directly on the top of the pins.

5. Cut Track. If necessary, cut track to at least 1/8˝ less than the widthof the finished opening. Use a fine tooth hack saw.

(A) closet to jamb. Fasten track to header. On two-door unit track should be firmly against jamb at guide end of track. Use track as template and mark screw locations. Drill 1/8˝ pilot holes to approximate length of screws.

7. Place jamb bracket so enter line is plumb with center line of track. Bottom leg should rest firmly on carpet or floor. To fasten jambbracket, drill 7/64˝ pilot holes to approximate length of screwsand apply fasteners.

8. To install hinged pair of doors, place pivot pin (B) in hole, lift doors(compressing pin spring) and seat bottom pin into jamb bracket slot. Compress wheel pin, swing door under track and release wheel into track channel.

9. Press self centering (4-dr) snugger into track between pairs of doors in4 panel installations, or press (2-dr.) snugger into track between guide

wheel and jamb in 2 panel installations.

10. Horizontal Adjustment: Use Phillips screw driver to reposition top pivot bracket © inor out. Lift hinged pair of doors slightly to clear slot in bottom jamb bracket, moveadjusting bolt in or out until doors are plumb with jamb, and reseat bolt in bracket slot.Adjust to obtain 1/8˝ gap between pairs of doors at center of opening (or doors and

jamb in 2-door opening). Vertical Adjustment: Lift doors again and rotate adjustingwheel (D) clockwise to raise doors, counterclockwise to lower them. Adjust doorsupwards for minimum clearance at the header. Reseat adjusting bolt in bracket slotbeing careful not to change horizontal positioning. Do not attempt to turn wheel with teeth engaged in the bracket.

11. To place knobs, drill 7/64˝ holes in center of guide doors about 36˝ from floor.

12. For 4-door installation only. Attach aligners to back of guide doors, 12˝ from floor.Adjust in or out in slatted holes until doors “snap” closed. Tighten screws.

Drill 7/64˝ pilot holes to a depth approximately the length of screws.

Bifold Door - 75 lbs.Assembly and Instructions

How to Install your Bifold DoorsPlease read the complete instructions carefully before you start installation. Allinstructions apply to any size bifold door installation. The same instructions alsoapply to all type of door panels.

Prepare Opening Carefully: Make sure corners are square, header is level andjambs are straight.

1. Cut Track to fit Opening Width and fasten toheader jamb with 1-1/4˝ Pan Head Screws.Note: Insert Parts in Track Before Mounting

2. Fasten Hinges to Doors (1606). (A) Stand pivot door on edge and mark a line at 7˝from top of midpoint and 11˝ from the bottom. (B) Attach hinge half with pin atmarks (hinge pin pointing up) with 1˝ flat head screws. (Note: with nylon knuckle athinge flush against back side of door). (C) Place second door back-to-back against firstdoor with top of doors even. Slip hinge half without pin over hinge half with pin. (D)Attach hinge half without pin to door.

3. Fasten Pivot Plates totop and bottom ofdoors as shown. Note: 1121 nylon lock-ing arm must opentowards rear of opening.

4. Fasten 1011 Floor Bracket to floor 9/16˝ from jamb face and7/8˝ from jamb edge. Remove floor bracket and proceed toStep 5.

5. Hang Doors by (A) inserting 1001 Top Pivot into 1010 Top Pivot Socket.Lock into place with locking lever. Then (B) insert 1125 Hanger into 1121Door Plate. Lock into place with locking arm. (C) Tilt doors slightly to allow1011 Floor Bracket to slide under 1706 Bottom Pivot. Insert 1706 into holeof 1011. Reattach 1011 to floor

6. Mount Aligners (1808) on back sideof lead doors. (4 Door Sets Only)

7. Check for Proper Door Operation: clearance, alignment, adjust-ments, etc. should be made at this time. If adjustments arerequired, they can be made at Track Pivot Socket (1010) and FloorBracket (1011). Setting, door warpage and other uncontrollableconditions may require later areadjustments.

Note: Doors must be parallel with track for proper operation.

• For Steel Track - 1 3/8˝ doors, install 8902 or 8906 hangers on both front and rear doors.For 1˝ – 1 1/8˝ doors, install 8902 or 8906 hangers on front doors, 8901 or 8905 on rear doors.

• Aluminum Track (non-fascia) – For 1 3/8˝ doors, install 8901/8905 hangers on front door, 8902/8906 on rear door.For 1 3/4” doors, reverse above hanger positions on doors: For 1˝ – 1 1/8˝ doors, install 8902/8906 hangers on bothfront and rear doors.

• Alum. Fascia Track – For 1 3/8˝ doors, install 8902/8906 hangers on both front and rear doors.For 1˝ - 1 1/8˝ doors, install 8902/8906 on front door, 8901/8905 on rear door.

Note: Make opening width a min. of 1˝ (25mm) less than set size indicated, to provide door overlap at center. Ex: Forset No. 8848 make opening a maximum of 47˝ (1.19m).

Step 1 - Screw track to head jamb with track centered between jambs. Allow 1 1/4˝ (32mm) minimum headroom at topfor hardware, plus 1/4˝ to 5/8˝ (6-16mm) clearance between door and floor. To obtain this, the recommended doorheight is 1 3/4˝ (44mm) less than the finished opening height. This provides 5/16˝ (8mm) adjustment for plumbing tojamb.

Step 2 - Hanger plate is self seating at top of door. With single wheel hangers, mount 1/2˝(13mm) from edge of door; mount twin wheel hangers 1 3/4˝ (44mm) from edge. Place screws atarrows on hanger plate.

Step 3 - Lift doors on track, installing the inside ore rear door first. Angle door aprox. 15 degrees to engage wheels intrack.

Step 4 - To align the doors back off on hanger screws slightly, insert screwdriver in hanger slot and adjust for height andplumb. Finally, tighten screws.

Step 5 - When using adjustable floor guide (left below), insert nylon piece in metalplate slots corresponding to door size, then locate under doors at center of opening.If using one-piece nylon guide (opt.) for 1 3/8˝ doors only, position same as foradjustable guide.
