President’s Message
OUR MISSION STATEMENT AND PURPOSE
To provide an opportunity for women to meet regularly in order to build their businesses through
networking and to foster the development of women in the community through social networking
and scholarship opportunities. We shall provide social and educational meetings which will focus on
business opportunities and development for women.
Well, again, if you missed our meeting I’m so sorry! Claudia Newcorn was amazing! She was in-formative, funny, helpful, and fantastic. If you weren’t able to attend, you should get her book “Zipline to Success”. It will definitely help your business.
I hope everyone is enjoying our series on Back to Basics. Sometimes we just need to step back and focus on the basics of our business and remember what to do to build it up. If anyone has any ideas of things for an outside seminar, please let me know. We would love to get some seminars together for our members to get together and learn how to improve themselves as well as their business. Claudia Newcorn has offered to do one for us and we can always do Facebook 201, which would be a follow up to the class we just did. Feel free to let me know if you are interested.
I would like to remind everyone that we will be having Board Nominations in September and elections in October. We are including the list of board positions and the people who have al-ready been nominated. Please feel free to nominate yourself or nominate someone else, as long as you talk to them first to make sure they want the position. It would be great if we actually had a election, not just an acceptance of the board from the nominating committee.
Fall is coming and so is the cool weather. I’m excited for that! I can’t believe that my year is more than half over. I am enjoying being your President and I am so happy with the number of guests that everyone is bringing to the meetings. The more people we have in the network, the better for everyone, so keep bringing those guests. Please remember to check the members of the network when you need services. We have so many great members with lots of abilities.
I hope you can all make it to the September meeting at Mountain Springs. We will be learning more about Building our Business through Social Media. If you came to the Facebook Class, you will know our speaker, Brandon Russell. He has some really good information and you don’t want to miss this!
See you all soon! Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.
Becky Selbee, President

Gat Slor is originally from Israel, and she's lived in the United States for many years, mostly in the bay area. Gat's husband Eddie brought her to Tuolumne County about six and a half years ago, and she enjoys being involved in local networking groups and events. She enjoys being on the boards of TCWN, CCWN (our equivalent in Calaveras County), and also an Ambassador with the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce.
Gat is an independent associate with LegalShield, which she loves because it gives her the opportunity to empower individu-als, families and small business owners with access to legal ser-vices and identity theft protection without having to worry about the high hourly costs.
She also teaches private Hebrew lessons, and her hobbies in-clude travel, movies, reading, Toastmasters, and spending time with family and friends. Gat thoroughly enjoys all the wonders of living in the mountains.
