A Little Bit About Me

My Recovery Began with Curran Place

Torque

I stepped into awhole new world thatI thought neverexisted.

The Staff

• Relatable• Approachable • Understanding• Non

judgemental • Supportive • Caring

• Positive.

Groups

• Able to talk freely• Feed off each other• Form a connection • Have things in common

It’s a day program

• You are in a safe environment in the day.• Unlike a rehab when you stay there at

night.

• You can go home at night in the real

community.

• You come back in the morning.

• If you have a bad night and bad afternoon, you can get some counselling.

• Easier to stay clean when you leave because you have integrated back in the community whilst doing the course.

• You face the issues in the real world.

One on One Session with My Worker:

• These are wonderful. • These explore the reason

behind the drug taking.

• I was able to face different issues.

• These helped a lot with my anxiety, setting goals and achieving those goals.

Supervised Environment

• Staff monitor and keep an eye on you• Staff check on you • Staff can tell if something is up and

ask if you need to speak to someone • Staff a not too far away• Staff are always there to reach out to

• Alternatives to drug taking • Problem solving skills through CBT• CBT is the main thing.

What You Learn

Community Connections

phobia• Staff take you to the gym each week• Community integration days
