Austin DESCRIPTION OF WORKS The works comprised of the demolition of the central part of the existing Synagogue building and its reconstruction on a larger footprint. Consequential alterations to building services, drainage and external works. DETAILS The project included asbestos removals, the demolition of part of the existing single storey building & total refurbishment of the remainder. Where the existing part of the building was demolished, the construction of a new area to provide a new Entrance Lobby & Entrance Hall, together with new WC facilities. There was structural work to create two large openings with moveable partition walls which was undertaken to provide greater flexibility of internal spaces in the Prayer & Kiddush Halls. The existing adjacent two storey building remained fully operational during the entire duration of the works, whilst all services were maintained.
