California Foundation for Occupational Therapy (CFOT)

MISSION

The California Foundation for Occupational Therapy (CFOT) is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to:

• To advance the science and practice of occupational therapy to enhance health, well-being, and participation in life activities for all individuals, communities, and populations through supporting and promoting occupational therapy research, education, and public awareness.

VISION• All individuals, communities, and populations

will have access to occupational therapy services and receive the best the profession has to offer as advances in healthcare, science, technology, and service delivery move forward into the future.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR GIVING• Contribute toward scholarships, research grants

or the legacy circle• Participate in CFOT projects and activities• Help increase public awareness of

occupational therapy services

CFOT was founded in 1981 as a public benefit organization to bring awareness of occupational therapy services to the public. Since its inception, scholarships, traineeships and research grants have been awarded annually.

Scholarships and grants are recognized at the annual CFOT Awards Lunch and Symposium.

CFOT annually awards thousands of dollars in scholarships and grants.

Members of the CFOT board of directors conduct an annual fundraising silent auction.
