The Challenge

In this challenge, you will build a software application. Applications can either be

internet-based, desktop applications or obile applications. Applications can be

de!eloped in any prograing language and technology.

The software application should be in one of the following categories

Educational applicationssuch as gaes that ake learning fun, applications

that deli!er ultiedia learning content, applications that support collaborati!e

learning or applications that support e!aluation of learning "tests#.

Websitesof colleges or organi$ations or places or e!ents.

Social networkingapplications that allow people to collaborate, e%change

inforation and photographs.

Those unfailiar with prograing languages can consider using siple !isual

prograing tools such as Scratch, Alice, logo to build their application. These tools arefor beginners and can be learnt &uickly. They are also fun to use.

for building software applications. Students taking this challenge ha!e to subit a

working software application.

pen Ignite is a #eb)based assessment application. It facilitates social learning. The

application allo#s a students to register and become a user. The user can then login and

fill in an online portfolio that captures his/her contact, personal, educational details as

#ell as net#or's, interests, abilities etc. The user can 0oin tutorials, +ie# +ideo lessons,

ta'es re+ie#s and can form teams and attempt pro0ects. The site also allo#s users to

form and 0oin groups and learn #ith others. It is built using %2 technology.
