Unit Summary
“Budgeting Made Real” is a project to help my students’ understand the importance of a budget. They will find a place to live and pay their monthly expenses.
Curriculum-Framing Questions
Essential Question Is a budget necessary? If so, why?
Unit QuestionsHow can understanding decimals make budgeting easier? Does it matter if you calculate your budget using gross or net income?
Content QuestionsHow do you add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals?What is the difference between gross and net income?How do you know a webpage is giving true information?
Budget Made RealThis project will help my students develop 21st century skills by:• Collaboration with peers.• Research on the Internet to find information.• Evaluation of the accuracy and relevance of the
information.• Communicate findings using Power Point.
