    TRAININGThe Gillard Government is delivering the skilled workers our economy needs whileensuring more Australians beneft rom our growing prosperity.

    AnewWorkforceDevelopmentFundwillbecreated,torespondtothemost

    critical emerging skills needs acing the Australian economy.

    Thiswilldeliver130,000 new training places over 4 years.

    APPRENTICESHIPSAustralia needs a modern apprenticeship system that supports apprentices and drivesfrstclasstraining,ratherthanapprenticessimplyservingtime.

    Thats why we are: Investingina national apprenticeship mentoring program to support

    apprentices fnish their training.

    Developingnew apprenticeship models that allow apprentices to progress

    aster and recognise prior learning.

    HIGHER EDUCATIONAllAustralians,regardlessoftheirbackgroundorwheretheylive,shouldhavetheopportunity to gain a university education.

    That is why we are: Investingafurther$1.4 billion to meet the demand or growth in university

    enrolments which will see 480,000 undergraduate places funded thisyear.

    CreatingafundtoupgradeinfrastructureatregionaltertiaryinstitutionsandassistingUniversitiestosupport,attractandretainsstudentsfromlowersocio-economic backgrounds.

    EDUCATIONThe Budget builds on the Governments strong record o liting education standards.

    This Budget provides reward payments for our best teachers. Around25,000ofthecountrysbestteacherseachyearwillreceivearewardpaymentworthupto10percentoftheirsalary.

    $200millionwillalsobeinvestedoverthreeyearstoSupport Students withDisabilities in their classrooms and also improve their learning outcomes.
