    Release 1.2.3 BTI Systems

    1 Introduction

    1.1 Purpose

This document lists the BTI Services Access Series features in releases 1.2, 1.2.1, and

1.2.2, and the known and resolved issues from Release 1.2 to Release 1.2.3.

    1.2 BTI Service Access features

The BTI Service Access 810 is a compact, modular, multiservice, carrier-grade platform

designed to deliver both Ethernet and TDM interface connectivity in support of mobile

    backhaul and Ethernet business services.

Its 1 RU form factor, low power and industrial temperature hardware design allows for

deployment in the outside plant cabinets, cellular tower sites, central offices and

enterprise wiring closets. With the modular design, the base system addresses the entire

requirements of a Carrier Ethernet access site and with optional TDM modules the device

    can address TDM access requirements.

The Service Access 810 is a Certified MEF2.0 platform delivering Ethernet Private Line,

Ethernet Virtual Private Line and Ethernet LAN based connectivity for business and 4G

mobile backhaul services. Based upon the latest generation of switching technologies

the platform delivers on the promise of Carrier Ethernet technologies such as ITU-T

G.8032v2 with sub 50ms protection switching, ITU-T Y.1731 messages at 3.3ms and the

MEF abstraction layer of Ethernet Services. With each sequential software release this

advanced switching platform will further evolve to support E-TREE and E-ACCESS

    services.

With dedicated hardware for traffic performance monitoring the Service Access 810

delivers on today’s requirement for hardware based Y.1731 latency, jitter and frame lose

ratio measurements. With MAC address swapping and station loopback the platform

eliminates the need for remote test loopback equipment or dedicated NIDs during service

turn-up or troubleshooting. Based upon field programmable hardware technologies, the

platform is also positioned to evolve to support protocols such as ITU-T Y.1564 for out-of-

service Ethernet service activation testing and Latching Loopback as being currently

    defined by MEF.

To address legacy PDH interfaces (specifically T1 and E1 interfaces) and SONET/SDH

interfaces (specifically OC3/STM1) the product enables and transport the PDH data

streams across the Carrier Ethernet network using industry standard circuit emulation

service (CES) as defined by MEF. With dedicated hardware for 1588v2 clock recovery

the Service Access 810 provide 1 Pulse per Second (1PPS) and Time of Day (ToD) GPS

Minimum Recommended Data sentence (GPRMC) outputs for phase and clock

synchronization. The system’s synchronization source can be derived from any of the

following: SyncE Ethernet interfaces, BITS In, Any SONET/SDH interface, Any T1/E1

interface and the embedded 1588v2 slave clock. Once locked the system clock meets

the accuracy, stability, and holdover specifications required for stratum 3 timing (ANSI

    T1.101).

request while performing a “upgrade-iimage”. Workaround: Try to avoid PSM operation against the node

    when doing upgrading system.

    26449

Description: EFPSD does not function on copper SFPs with

FULL100/FULL1000 mode. Workaround: For EFPSD to work with copper SFPs, auto-

    negotiation mode should be enabled.

    26711

Description: Forced switch/Manual Switch ERPS commands do

not work after upgrading from release 1.0/1.1. In 1.0/1.1. Workaround: Modify the the ERPS version from V1 to V2 after

    upgrade the system from 1.0/1.1.

    27274

Description: Downgrades on line cards may generate spurious

error messages. These messages are harmless but indicate a compatibility issue between the software the line card is running and the system software. Workaround: Always try to upgrade or keep all of the system

running software from the same packaged release.

    28327

Description: Signal degrade on OC3/STM-1 does not trigger a

    hybrid protection switch. Workaround: None

Description: The order of operation is important when disabling

learning of LAG group. To disable learning the users should: 1> Add UNI, NNI (LAG), EVC. 2> Add lag member 3> Disable the the learning of LAG Then, the learning disabling will take effect. The mac cannot be learned at the LAG point. Workaround: Follow the prescribe order of operations.

    26110

Description: Modifying the in-band management IP to an IP

which is on the same subnet as the out of band management IP will result in an error message but will cause the default gateway to be disabled. This could result in a loss of IP management connectivity to the NE. Workaround: None

    26164

Description: No alarm will be raised when LAG interface is

'ADMIN-Up' but in an 'OPER-Down' state. Workaround: Port state will display correctly using CLI.

    25994

Description: A port that is assigned to a LAG can also be added

to another LAG. Workaround: Users should ensure ports are only assigned to a

    single LAG .

    30273

Description: Station loopback does not loop back frames with

    DEI/CFI set. Workaround: None

5 Known proNX Service Manager issues

The following table lists known proNX Service Manager issues in this release:

    Issue Number Description

24329/24502 Description: : The creation, modification, or deletion of multiple Ethernet services

within a short period (less than ~5 seconds) using the proNX Service Manager is not supported. Workaround: When using the proNX Service Manager to delete Ethernet

services or to “auto-provision CFM” services, wait for the proNX SM to return with a “Finished” message in the task window.
