Project developmentThe development of bioenergy and biofuel projects requires specific know-how, skills and experience in the field of bioenergy. With more than twenty years of focused dedication to the furtherance of bioenergy, BTG offers all that is needed to the successful implementation of these projects worldwide.

BTG projects are environmentally, technologically and financially sound, reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, contribute to local socio-economic development and are true showcases and incubators for further commercial take-off. Projects are always developed and implemented in close-cooperation with local partners. BTG projects are truly sustainable!

Portfolio approach and financeThe bundling of small- and medium-scale bioenergy projects into portfolios has been developed and applied successfully in Latin America (Costa Rica, Brazil) and Central Europe (Czech Republic). Financing of these portfolios is always arranged on a tailor-made basis. All of BTG’s project portfolios benefit from additional revenues through the sales of carbon credits (ERUs, CERs, AAUs, VERs). Each portfolio represents an investment value and a volume of carbon credit transactions in the order of several tens of millions of Euros. The cumulative investments of BTG’s portfolios exceed a value of 100 million Euros.

BTG Biomass Technology Group BV (BTG) is an independent private firm specialised in the conversion of biomass into biofuels and bioenergy. Since its privatisation in 1987, BTG has carried out more than 1500 assignments worldwide. Field experience has been gained in more than 80 countries and more than 60 bioenergy systems and factories have been implemented. The company’s longstanding focus on and dedication to bioenergy has resulted in the establishment of more than 20 subsidiaries and spin-off companies in the bioenergy sector.

BTG has structured its activities in the business units Project development, Consultancy and Research & Development. This unique combination of business units is the base for providing highly innovative and commercially attractive services. BTG clients include agro-industrial and wood processing industries, utilities, multinational oil companies and institutional organisations like the World Bank and the European Commission. Due diligence is carried out for both small and large investors that are interested in investing in bioenergy or biofuel technologies.

All BTG projects take into account reduction of greenhouse gases.
