The BRUCELLA S ANTIBODY TEST KIT is a qualitative test using Fluorescence Polarization technology de signed to determine the presence of antibodies in se rum, plasma, full blood or milk, against species of the genus Brucella which produce smooth colonies (B. melitensis, B. abortus and B. suis - Rev. sci. tech., OIE 1982). The presence of antibodies is indicative of prior infection with Brucella.
Brucella FPA has been validated for testing samples of many species, among which are domestic ruminants, swine, cervids, bison, buffalo, camels, dogs and other. It is also suitable to test human samples. Contact us for more details.
The diagnostic test uses an O-polysaccharide (OPS) extracted from Brucella abortus bacteria and labeled with fluorescein. A fluorescence polarization instru ment is used to measure the polarization state of the light emitted by he OPS conjugate. When no antibod ies are present, the polarization is low. Polarization in creases when antibodies bind to the conjugate.
