• 86 people said they have downloaded music before

• Obviously, 14 said they hadn’t

• The majority, being 46 people said they used Lime Wire as their primary source

• Only 17 people, of the 86 who have downloaded, said they obtained a virus

• 14 of those 17 students said the virus was not from a music file, but a video, document, or image file

• Viruses are a main reason why our school feels we should not have downloading systems. Slows computers, and overloads the computer center with complaints.

• Firewalls are set up around the dorms to prevent uploading any systems onto computers. (Laptops as well)

• Memory in computer is taken up a lot faster, and makes computer less efficient, and more likely to freeze, possibly loosing work.

• At Virginia Tech the firewall allows you to download music, video, image, and document files through Limewire.

• Mansfield University is aloud to upload any system enabling them to download music, video, images. No documents to help prevent cheating.

Can you Beat the Kings? (Alternatives)

iTunes, which is a peer to peer on your local LAN system of each floor in the dorms.

Winamp downloading system allows you to upload Winamp, and you can copy files to your iTunes.

• Able to share music files with people that are on your floor in the dorms.

• You cannot download anymore songs, only share songs that people already have on their computer or from their iPod.
