Novices and Formators
For a year, they will live in brotherhood
following JESUS
in the manner of Jean-Marie de la Mennais the founder of the Brothers.
PRAYER IS OUR BREATH
Without prayer, it is like a day without sunshine.
Prayer, it is to sing the Office, in community, morning, afternoon,
and evening.
The Office is a prayer of the Church, a prayer of
praise and intercession for the needs of the world.
Prayer, it is a personal meditation of a Gospel text, every
morning for 30 minutes.
Prayer is the daily Eucharist, which unites us to CHRIST and builds our
community.
It is also the Sacrament of Reconciliation, which allows us to experience the mercy
of GOD.
Parayer is staying before the Blessed Sacrament, in the
evening, in the deepest silence to give thanks to the Lord for the day
he has given us.
Prayer, it is to pray to the Virgin Mary, in community, by the Rosary.
MARY
Model of our life
consecrated to the LORD
Prayer thus pushes us to love our Brothers better and to
discover CHRIST in the life of all those we meet.
For better human and spritual formation, time for class is
necessary.
All the lessons aim at knowing Jesus Christ and the Religious life better.
Lessons on faith, the Word of God, the Sacraments, Liturgy, Church History, the Virgin Mary ….
Lessons on Religious life: consecration, vows, fraternal life: meditation, Office, Rosary …
Three periods of ¾ of an hour of instruction are provided in the morning, interspersed with
personal times of assimilation (research on religious life, the Church …)
A time for more spiritual instruction takes place in
the evening.
Anthropological lessons
during inter-Novitiates sessions
to allow everyone to discover his riches and his limits
for living better in community and preparing oneself for the
future mission of being a Brother.

The maintenance and cleanliness of the house are the responsibility of Novices. A joy for all to make the house clean and welcoming.
After breakfast, interior house cleaning.
The maintenance of the property, in the afternoon, from 15 to 16hrs.
With his machete, a Master who leads by example. Images sufficiently
evocative
Riches and personal talents are put at the
service of the community..
The community work is part of the community-building. Pounding yam is a traditional sport
at the Novitiate, on Wednesday..
Who said that manual labour is one of the paths to highest holiness ?
In their own way...
they are also part of the Novitiate.
All ye works of the Lord, bless the Lord, all you birds …Jacquo
Fraternal life is incoceivable without relaxation…
A moment eagerly awaited each afternoon and in the evening after
supper.
Everyone can express his sports qualities or his insight in the games.
As true professionals, warming up before the ten km run under the sun…without pause
And go … with a smile.
Around Dapaong
We must cling…More effort , we are arriving…
After the race, a well-deserved refreshment
Here, it is more skill than physical effort …
When playing with balls
Come on, Bro. Benedict tip !
to the nearest millimeter you win or lose.
Verification over, we can guess who has won
Physical effort ? Yes, but
technical and tactical
With the FMI Novices
(Fils de Marie Immaculée)Volleyball
Always with the FMI Novices
Some Sundays, at sunset, a walk to explore the area.
Forward …
What is there ?
Here, no doubt, it is cotton
Quarry and pond d’eauMy God, how beautiful is your creation !
For relaxation, late evening, small games : scrabble, cards, draughts
Through these different times of relaxation
The combined effort unites the community
together.
The fraternal spirit outweighs the joy of
winning and the disappointment of losing.
The times for walking can be used to exchange and to
know one another better
Fraternal life
Times for community sharing on Saturday
mornings are times of intense joy.
Everyone is invited to speak before his Brothers of two or three highlights of the week where he felt peace, inner joy:
A Gospel phrase which resonated in his heart
a pardon given
A regained health after malaria
a service rendered
and again… …
The patronal festivals and birthdays bring together the entire community to celebrate with joy the hero of the day.
A pep talk
A beautiful bouquet by way of present
And a song
To the health of the Brother celebrated
Delicious meal with cake.
A fraternity without joy is
a fraternity that goes off.
From time to time, we welcome visitors for a time of exchange or a shared meal.
Our Brothers from Ogaro or Mango visit us with pleasure.
as well as Father Soler, the Parish Priest.
These are moments of great conviviality.
All these moments of sharing and hospitality are sources of great joy for the community.
Apostolate at the Noviciate
The Brothers’ mission is rooted in the word of Jesus : Let the children come to me.
Every Saturday afternoon Novices go to the Parish to prepare the Liturgy of the children’s Mass.
Rehearsal with the youth Choir.
Preparation of readings, admonitions..
Sunday morning: catechesis in the Parish : for the Primary children
and the Group CVAV (Vaillant Hearts, Vaillant Souls)
on Saturday afternoon.
Throughout the year, the Novices visit the works of the Brothers :
in TOGO
in BENIN
Agricultural Centre at OGARO
College St Pierre and ST Paul at ANEHO
Mgr Hanrion College at MANGO
Hibiscus College at PARAKOU
Time for exchange with students
Novices with the community of Parakou in BENIN
Ardour, joy of learning to read with gestural method at OGARO.
For 12 months, the Novice listens to Christ through prayer,
teachings, apostolate and fraternal life.
Taking into account the advice of his spiritual Director, the
Master of Novices, whom he met regularly throughout the
year, the Novice freely requests to make his Religious
profession.
Following the example of his older Brothers, next September, in the presence of his Superiors, the Brothers from Togo and Bénin, and members of his family, he will commit himself to live the Religious Life by the Evangelical counsels: the Vows of Chastity, Obedience
and Poverty.
After their Religious profession, Novices continue with their formation (theological and pedagogical studies) for three years at the
Scholasticate of Abidjan.
