Aker Solutions offers complete subsea lifecycle operations to its clients and is present in over 30 countries. Through Aker Marine Contractors Aker Solutions has the proven methodology required to execute successful marine operations and deliver predictable solutions unsurpassed in quality, efficiency and safety.

Aker Wayfarer, the third in a series of OSCV06L sister vessels, is as an offshore construction vessel designed for ultra-deepwater with state of the art equipment and experienced crew that can meet any challenge. The unit will be ready as a construction vessel in Q4 2010.

Aker Wayfarer is environmental friendly with focus on low fuel consump-tion, low exhaust emissions, and has precautions in accordance with DNV’s CLEAN DESIGN requirements incorporated into the vessel design. Aker Wayfarer is classed as well intervention unit IMO-MODU code.

The unit’s main features are: • Subsea Installation • Floater Installations • Topside Floatovers • Removal Operations • Large deck space • Large Subsea crane • Excellent seakeeping performance • High transit speed for worldwide operation • ROV operations/surveying

The size and transit speed of the 157 meter long vessel along with DP3 and IMO MODU code classification makes for a secure and flexible working platform with a large operational window for subsea well intervention, installation and construction work in rough weather conditions around the world.

Aker Wayfarer comes with two heave compensated cranes of 400 mt and 100 mt (dual fall) capacity. The vessel has a skidding system with pallet capacities of 125 mt in the moonpool area and 60 mt outside for safe and reliable equipment handling in rough weather conditions. The vessel is ready to be upgraded to become a subsea equipment intervention unit in about 18 months. Necessary modifications to comply fully with the IMO-MODU code are already built into the design.
