Design and SpecifySST understands that the most criticalphase in manufacturing engineeredproducts is the ability to define andspecify the customer’s requirements.Our "Solid Team" of engineers has thedepth and knowledge to design prod-ucts of high quality standards, whetherit be your first prototype piece or vol-ume production. SST uses SolidWorks™3-D mechanical design software toinsure optimum designfit-ups and to sup-port higher levelassembly engineer-ing and design.

Material ProcurementOur materials and componentsare sourced from world class suppliers.Detailed documentation and specifica-tions ensure that we receive incominggoods that will satisfy your criticalrequirements.

Critical HandlingSST’s cleaning system has the automa-tion and process controls to achievecleanliness consistency from batch tobatch. We have standardized on a specialty aqueous cleaner followed by a cascade D.I. water rinse to ensure topquality results. The same process can beused for precision cleaning of metals,ceramics, and glass and is suitable forUHV environments.

Methods of ManufacturingAt SST we utilize the most advancedmanufacturing techniques to producehigh reliability assemblies. Theseinclude metalizing and plating ofceramics, active metal joining, vacuumand hydrogen brazing, glass ceramicsealing, TIG welding, spot welding, andmachining and mechanical assembly.

Special TestSST has the tools to verify product per-formance and reliability. All products

are 100% leak tested and inspectedbefore they are shipped to

our customers. The leak testis performed with a "dry"helium mass spectrometer

and parts are guaranteed to have a leak rate of less than

1x10-10 atm.cc/sec. Other equipment and tests include:

• State-of-the-art x-ray fluorescencethickness tester for verification of metalizing and plating thickness.

• Megohm resistance tester (50-1000 V)for pin-pin, pin-ground tests.

• DC HiPot tester to 75,000 volts.

• Thermal cycle and other specialrequirements can be performed to customer's specifications.
