Since warehouses are not easy to wire, and Wi-Fiis just as reliable as Ethernet, smart Wi-Fi meshing
is the ideal solution or easily extending Wi-Fiservices without the cost and complexity o pullingCat5 cabling to every AP. The Ruckus ZoneFlexsystem supports Smart Mesh Networking that letswarehouses connect APs by simply plugging into apower outlet. The AP is smart enough to do the rest. And, confguring Smart Meshing is as simpleas clicking a check box. No manual defning o meshing links or tedious optimization. Smart Meshingorganizes, optimizes and heals on its own.
Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi was designed for latency sensitive bar code scanners and other wireless applications that require consistent dependable connectivity.
Simply better CoNNeCtioNS For mobile DeviCeS
New Wi-Fi enabled handheld devices pose serious challenges to largewarehouse environments. Unlike laptops, the orientation o mobiledevices constantly changes making it harder or Wi-Fi systems to delivera rock solid signal. Traditional omni-directional antennas werenever developed to deal with this type o moving client andcant properly adapt to changing orientation o clients. Thisresults in dropped connections and erratic Wi-Fi per ormance.Ruckus adaptive antenna technology uniquely solves theseproblems with patented, dual-polarized, adaptive antennatechnology that selects the best signal path or every packet, even as the devices move around. This array automaticallydetects the client devices and sends signals that are verticallyor horizontally polarizedremembering each client andthe position o the client. Radio energy is ocused andtransmitted using the best per orming signal path oreach client on a per packet basis. The result is consistentand predictable per ormance you can count on.
Adaptive antenna technology is ideal for making handheld devices, which moveconsistently with hand and body motion, completely reliable.

RTLS can be easily implemented to track andmanage assets and materials. Ruckus works withleading RTLS vendors to develop and inter acewith their location engines to receive in ormation

Simple, Simple, Simple CoNFiguratioN
Real-time location tracking (RTLS) is critical in the warehouse setting.
The Ruckus ZoneFlex system is the industryssimplest WLAN system to confgure and deploy. Ito ers one o the most advanced set o WLAN ea-tures but without the cost and complexity typicallyassociated with high-end systems. Confgured inminutes and deployed in hours, the ZoneFlex sys-tem uses an intuitive Web-based wizard. Once con-fgured, APs are simply plugged into a power sourceor PoE and sel -confgure by automatically discov-ering the ZoneDirector controller or FlexMasterWi-Fi management system. APs can be deployedin standalone mode or part o a centrally managed,
ull- eatured WLAN. ZoneDirector controllers aredeployed out o the datapatheliminating per or-mance bottlenecks and a single points o ailure.

We have a very diverse set o businesses, applications, users, and devices all o which require robust wirelessto maintain operational e ciency. The combination o 802.11n and adaptive antenna technology eliminates faky coverage and reliability issues that have plagued Wi-Fi in the past.
Management and administration o a wireless LAN system hasnever been simplerwhether onsite or remote. No complexor hard to understand menus ull o con using options. Instead, administrators simply point and click through an intuitive, graphical user inter ace, purposely designed or simplicity. Acustomizable, widget-based dashboard provides a completeat-a-glance view o the system with detailed in ormationabout system usage, recent user activity, most active clients, most requented access points, rogue devices and much
more. And detailed statistics provides real-time in ormationor troubleshooting. Per ect or warehouse environments withalready busy IT sta .
To save time and recurring monthly broadband charges, warehouses can use long-range smart Wi-Fi bridges. Overdistances o 1 to 8 miles, new 802.11n 5GHz Wi-Fi bridges deliver
rom 50 to 200 Mbps o high-capacity broadband connections intowarehouse acilitiessaving potentially tens o thousands o dollarsevery year rom eliminating costly fxed line connections to connectremote sites.

ADI Logistics, o Edison, New Jersey, has amassive 185,000 square oot warehousing
acility and serves a wide range o custom-ers to store, track, and deliver their inven-tory. It was critical or ADI to have a robustand reliable Wi-Fi network, which hadproved to be elusive in the past.
Enter Ruckus. With requirements thatranged rom providing wireless or inventorytracking, back o fce applications, to guestand employee access all within this massive
acility, Ruckus was up to the task.
More challenging was the harsh RF environ-ment that thwarted any success ul Wi-Fideployments in the past, and the nature o their business, which always changed the asthe customer product changed the internalenvironment o the warehouse.
Ruckus solved ADIs problems immediatelywith only six ZoneFlex 2942 access pointsand a ZoneDirector 1006 Smart WLAN con-troller. Installation was a breeze since onlythree Ethernet drops meshed the rest o the APs with a simple click o a button. Themost di fcult part o installation was physi-
cally placing the AP on the ceiling.
Combining high-gain smart antennas andwireless meshing, the Ruckus ZoneFlex sys-tem changed everything or us. For aboutone-third the cost o alternative WLANs weconsidered, the ZoneFlex system has givenus complete and reliable coverage with the
ewest numbers o APs and without addi-tional cabling. Lou Schmaus, MIS Director,ADI Logistics, Inc.
