Straight staircases

Lightweight and attractive design Weland straight staircases are designed for both evacuation and industry, for offices, homes, entrances, public areas, schools, etc. With its simple design consisting of just two to four main components, stringer, tread, grating landings and railings, the parts screw together easily during installation.

We manufacture our products in Sweden using our modern, environmentally friendly machine fleet. Together with our knowledgeable staff, we are developing and designing straight staircases to meet high requirements for quality.

Straight Staircases for Evacuation and Industry

Weland's straight steel staircases can be used as eva-cuation staircases and for providing access to all types of environments. During manufacture, we follow the Construction Rules issued by the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning, BBR, and the dimensioning complies with Eurocode with national application.

As a rule, Weland's straight staircases for industrial applications are manufactured with treads in grating. As standard, the railing comes with intermediate rails, and the staircases come hot-dip galvanised. These can be supplied with shorter delivery times provided standard components are used.

Weland's straight staircase for indoor use is a staircase that is suitable for houses, offices, stores etc.

The staircase is available in most designs with options for railings, handrail and stair tread. The staircase's surface treatment is either hot-dip galvanising or lacquering in a colour of the customer's choosing.

The railing for straight staircases for home and office application is ordinarily designed to be child-proof.

Standard straight flight staircases

RailingsWeland manufactures two different types of standard railing for straight staircases, railing with intermediate rails and round bar railing.

As standard, the railing height is 900 mm on the flight of stairs and 1100 mm on landings. If there is a risk of fall-ing and the fall height is greater than a normal storey, the railing should be at least 1100 mm high.

Stair treads The stair treads in the TH6 standard are manufactured from pressure welding grating with a mesh width open-ing c/c 33 x 75 mm. TH6-S is manufactured from the same type of grating but has a safety front edge that clearly marks the front edge and, in addition, provides increased anti-slip protection

Railing, intermediate rails

Handrail and balusters in Ø 42 mm tube. Intermediate rail in Ø 28 mm tube. Used mainly as an escape staircase (in locations where children are not permit-ted).

Railing, round bar

The round-bar railing is a child-proof railing, i.e. the max. ope-ning between the balusters is 100 mm up to 800 mm railing height.

Handrail and balusters in Ø 42 mm tube. Intermediate ba-lusters in Ø 12 mm round bar. Top and bottom rails in Ø 28 mm tube.

Alternative designs

RailingsWeland also manufactures customised railings to meet specific customer needs. These railings are childproof, i.e. the maximum opening is 100 mm.

Railing glass infill

Handrail and balusters in Ø 42 mm tube. Laminated glass infill with fine-ground edge on all sides.

Railing mesh

Handrail and balusters in Ø 42 mm tube. Woven wire mesh with mesh widths 30 x 30 x 3 or 40 x 40 x 3 mm.

Railing, sheet metal

Handrail and balusters in Ø 42 mm tube. Infill with sheet metal or perforated sheet metal.

HandrailRound wooden handrails are manufactured according to your wishes. The handrails are in solid wood and are available in several different types of wood, such as oak, pine, beech, ash and birch.

Extra handrail

Weland straight staircases can also be equipped with an extra handrail. This is placed below the normal handrail and can be set at any height

Stair treadsApart from grating treads, we can also manufacture stair treads in slit plank type flooring, in durbar plate, plank type flooring (closed, holed, slit and perforated), plate for carpet, different wood types, grey concrete, Terrazzo concrete and plate for floor tiles.

Contrast MarkingThe first stair tread of each flight, as well as the front edge of landings, can be provided with contrast marking. The design differs depending on the type of stair tread.

Protective cagesTo prevent unauthorised persons from entering the straight staircase, it can be supplemented with a protec-tive cage at the bottom, which is placed on the base.

The protective cages are manufactured in grating, but they are also available with, for example, perforated sheet metal.

The door is equipped with a ASSA 565 lock, latch bolt lock. Door push on both sides. The cage door is opened with a key from the outside and knob from the inside.

The protective cage is supplied in sections to be bolted together. The requisite bolts are included.

GatesWeland gates can be mounted on the straight flight staircase. The gate’s hinges and lock fittings are instal-led on the railing. The lock is spring-based and is so firm that it cannot be opened by small children.

Straight Staircases Special and Combi-Stairs

Special staircasesWeland's special staircases, as the name suggests, are staircases that differ from Weland's standard. These staircases are manufactured to match the customer's wishes and needs.

As a rule, if the architect or the customer desires a spe-cial design of the railing or other parts of the staircase, on the whole, we can provide that.

This can be casing in different types of plate or other desires for obtaining a special look.

Combi-stairsWeland Combi-stairs are a fusion of straight staircases and spiral staircases. These staircases can be manufac-tured to order in a variety of designs and combinations. Stair treads, railings and surface treatment manufac-tured as for other straight staircases.
