The European Pipeline Center is equipped with 2.500 m over and undergroundpipes of all materials, including all types of pipe defects. So it is possible to simulatealmost any possible practical situation for professional training in a controlled andsafe environment.

The GSR and PSR data logger families measure and register different quantities such aspressure, level, flow, temperature... Power supply is adapted to the application site. It can begrid, battery or solar powered. According to their construction we distinguish compact loggersand loggers with dislocated electronics. Data transfer may be local, networked or wireless.

The GSR 120 logger family consists of two data loggers: type GSR120NT which measures and registers levels (or pressure) andtemperatures and type GSR 120NTG, which in addition to level(pressure) and temperature measurements records also theconductivity of the media (water). The recorded data is automatically and economicallytransmitted via internet to the TELEKOM AUSTRIAdata processing centre, which guarantees highest possibledata security and availability.

Using the online mode, measurement data or graphs can bemonitored in real time without installing any additional software.

An alarm function when limit values are exceeded sends a SMSor email message ensuring swift action.

Data can be displayed in a diagram or chart as optionally asdaily, monthly or yearly trend curves. All records can beexported as unencrypted plain text in CSV format for backuppurposes or further data processing.

In the transportation of water from sources to end consumers some water always gets lost.

Any significant deviation means an additional loss of water.

This means high costs because of expensive electricity used up to pump the water, the necessity tonew resources, pipelines are more burdened and last but not least the government has introducedsanctions - a fee on water loss.

8 Mobile Flow Measurement
