The FormulaCruisers is a starting team that participates in the Formula Student competi- tion. The team de- signs and builds an open wheel light- weight space- frame electric racecar meant for the amateur weekend racer. The drivetrain consists of two elec- tric motors that drive the vehicle. This summer the team competes in the de- sign competition Formula Student UK at the Silverstone circuit in England. In 2015 the team will also compete in the dynamic events of the Formula Stu- dent UK as well as Formula Student Germany. Responsible Lecturer Ir.   • The first set up of the space frame

    About Formula Student

    Formula Student, run by the Institution of Mechani-

    cal Engineers, is the worlds largest student motor-

    sport competition, challenging engineering stu-

    dents from across the globe to design and build

    their own single-seater racing car before pitting it

    against over 100 other teams at the world-famous

    Silverstone circuit. Formula Student has two levels

    of competitions, class 1 and class 2. Class 1 con-

    sists of a race event and a design competition,

    where class 2 consists of just the design judging.

    Judging is done by experienced motorsport engi-

    neers.

    What we want from you Right now the project is in the design phase. The design

    is taking shape and we are on track to finish the design

    before the start of the class 2 competition of this sum-

    mer. To maintain this level of progress we need dedicat-

    ed students who want to deliver high quality products.

    When participating in next period per September 2014

    you will be involved in finalizing the design, first construc-

    tion and tests as well as fund raising.

    What is in it for you As EPS student you will be part of an international multi-

    disciplinary team of engineering students. You will be

    challenged to complete the design of a state-of-the-art

    electrical racing car. If finances are available the first

    tests and construction efforts will be carried out some-

    where in the period September 2014 to Januari 2015.

    You will use the Prince 2 project method and will be

    introduced to the concepts of systems engineering.

    Apart from the technical aspects you will meet other Eu-

    ropean students and get to understand their culture with-

    in and outside the university.

    Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Computer Scientists, Technical Physicists, Mechatronical Engineers, Mathematicians,
