We take thetime to conduct elaborate tests and ridethe trail or on the road one more time tofind out for ourselves just what it is we’recreating, so we really know what we’retalking about. We want to take responsi-

We want to share our passion for the sport.Being part of a community of like-mindedpeople means we have a constant exchangeof ideas with our customers in order tostay well informed about the demands theyplace on our products. The customers areour motivators, provide us with impetusand are also our advisors. We activelyseek contact to them and endeavour toengage with them in a fair dialogue. We

represent a forum and community forpassionate racing cyclists where there isan active discussion and exchange ofideas. This enables both us and the customers to progress together. This solidarity with the biker community formsour backbone and helps us to keep in perspective why we actually do the workwe do.

We aim to give the sport impetus becauseit's the sport that has given us that verysame impetus. Therefore we also want togive every biker the chance to make hisown personal contribution.

PASSION FOR PERFECTION

to the full. Every development cycle offersnew innovations, greater performanceand allows the frame to gleam in renewedsplendour.

We have very strong partners at our sidehelping us to realise our aims. Erik Zabel, the most successful German racing cyclistof all time, and the entire UCI ProTour teamOmega Pharma - Lotto provide us with crucial feedback. What could be improvedfurther, how does the frame behave on cer-tain types of terrain? These are questionsthat can only be posed and answered dur-ing everyday business on the tough pro cy-cling circuit. We are in constant contactwith the team, speak regularly to ErikZabel about the latest developments andtrends in the industry. But we are also pas-sionate cyclists. This passion is reflectedin every screw and in every detail.

Evolution and Revolution – with our roadbikes we have set new world records andin 2009 a cyclist became World Championon a Canyon road bike for the first time. Wepursue new approaches and set industry-wide benchmarks.

At Eurobike 2004, the Ultimate CF framewith F10 technology had a tremendousimpact. The frame’s stiffness to weightratio rose for the first time above themagical 100 mark! A world record! We setout to build the world’s best frame.

That aim remains the same, yet progressallows us to advance the limits of what’spossible even further. Lightweight, stiff-ness, comfort and aerodynamics. Theseare all important aspects of road bikeframe building in their own right. We ac-centuate each of these individual aspects

Have we now already reached the end ofthe road? No we haven’t, not if one thinksoutside the box. We don’t just experimentwith existing materials and make maxi-mum use of them. We also venture downuntrodden paths and create productswith new materials. One example is basaltfibre. Basalt is ideal when the greatestlevel of comfort needs to be achieved. We will continue doing research here inKoblenz and in research partnershipswith renowned manufacturers and insti-tutes because we will never lose sight ofour aims.

Mountain biking is all about passion. Forus passion stretches from cross-countryto freeride, from super-light hardtails rightthrough to bikepark machines with bagsof travel in reserve. Every facet of moun-tain biking is a part of us and we settle fornothing less than the best with everymodel we produce. We compose the opti-mum bike for every range of use. Our de-velopment team is at the cutting edge ofdevelopment and sometimes even aheadof its time. The team can spot the poten-tial of new technologies with computer generated models as well as on the trails, thereby setting trends in the industry.

Page 9: Brochure en 2011

CANYON BIKES 2011 9

We concentrate our efforts on every range of use individually.Alongside our test stands at the University of Applied Sciencesin Pforzheim, which are run by Prof. Dr. Peter Kohmann, wespeak to the toughest and most honest of testers, namely ourpro riders. We don’t start with the serial production of modelsuntil they are all satisfied and have given us their green light onthe frame geometry, power transfer and levels of comfort.

The rewards are there for all to see. Multiple test victories allover Europe and multiple “Bike of the Year” awards from Eu-rope’s largest bike magazines. After the very first test ride you’llrealise that all our efforts were worth it.

AEROAD CF 9.0 ETE

www.canyon.com | Canyon UK +44 (0) 20 8501 2582 | canyon.com/aeroad-cf

¤ 6299,– ex works.

“The Aeroad CF is the new highlight in the Canyon range with its aeorodynamically opti -mised frame and fork. The Aeroad is a really well balanced frame, as well as being respon-sive, fast and nevertheless comfortable on longer rides.” GRANFONDO 07/2010

Erik Zabel was one of the first to try the frame and he was thrilled as ofhis first ride. “Head tube and rear stays are beautiful. The main tubesperfectly meet the Aero theme.” ETE is critical with a love for detail. Pre-miere at Canyon: Shimano Di2 electronic shifting. But we always pushit further: We have adjusted the frame especially for the Japanese topgroup – instead of the side openings for the Bowden cables there is nowa small drill hole just behind the head tube. Shifting has never been eas-ier, as precise and possible with as little effort as now. Only the best forthe ETE: the Mavic Cosmic Carbone Ultimate. Excellent aerodynamics, low weight and absolute stiffness are the attributes, which make thesewheels stand out from the crowd. Aerodynamics, individually adjustableriding characteristics, ergonomics and looks – these are the attributesthat distinguish the Aeroad CF 9.0 ETE from the pack.

“The low bottom bracket and wider cockpit makes the rider feel good right from the off.The transmission of power was impressive thanks to the drive neutral kinematic.”(BIKE 10/2010)

An impressive overall and frame design characterise the Strive ESX. Butwhat good is that apart from giving the bike a stylish appearance? Forstarters you can now fit a bottle cage to your enduro bike and whenyou’re on a mega tough Alpine crossing you’ll be especially happy if yourrucksack is a bit lighter and you reduce pressure on your shoulders.Form follows function – this is a principle that Canyon holds dear morethan ever before.

“A bike for everyone and everything. Well balanced geometry, mega riding fun, top equip-ment and minimal weight. Great! The final verdict: Outstanding, test winner!” (MOUNTAIN-BIKE 06/2010) "Superb value-for-money" (CYKEL MOTION Dänemark 04/2010)

“A bike for everybody and everything. Well-balanced geometry, mega riding fun, premium equipment and minimal weight. Brilliant! Test win-ner!” MOUNTAINBIKE magazine (06/10) is thrilled and its final verdictwas “outstanding”. We have now adapted the frame once again and withthe hydroforming top tube we can now do without a gusset on the seattube - that means more stability due to the reduced number of weldseams. The high-end suspension from the American cult brand Fox im-presses with the 32 F120 FIT RL fork and the RP2 shock with its highvolume XXV-air chamber. Top performance for uphill specialists and trailjunkies.
