Polynt is a leading Company in Europe in the manufacture ofBMC, SMC and TMC compounds, with three production plants:Italy, Germany and Poland. The Company leadership isstrengthed by the group synergies through their factories at SanGiovanni Valdarno (I) and Niepolomice (PL), where polyesterresins are produced.BMC-SMC-TMC are composed of unsaturated polyester orvinylester resin systems, mineral fillers, glass fibrereinforcements and technological additives. The abovementioned components can be formulated to optimise specificcharacteristics as required for the applications such as "Class A"for carbody panels, mechanical properties for structural parts, electrical properties for electromechanical or electronicapplications and fire resistance for self-extinguishingapplications. BMC and SMC, thanks to their ability to be modified, can be usedin all sectors.

BMC (Bulk Moulding Compounds)Are produced in bulk and packaged in 10-15 kg.The fibre length ranges from 3 mm to 24 mm.BMCs are suitable to be used for injection moulding processes inorder to reduce cycle times and improve surface aspects.

SMC (Sheet Moulding Compounds)Are supplied in sheet form 1350/1500 mm.Glass fibre length is 25 to 50 mm. Special formulas are available incorporating continuous fibre orfabric reinforcement. SMC products are generally manufacturedby compression moulding, in order to obtain the highestmechanical properties.

TMC (Thick Moulding Compounds)Are produced as thick sheets cut to size using 13 to 50 mm lengthglass fibre reinforcement. Specifically formulated for injectionmoulding in order to obtain high mechanical properties.

Why useour products toreplace metal?

BMC & SMCmoulding eliminates

the need forsubsequent

operations such asdrilling and welding

BMC & SMC reducethe weight of themoulded parts

BMC & SMCare thermostable

materials

BMC & SMCmaterialscustomisedfor specific

applications whichoptimises costsand properties

The ecocompatible solution

SMC & BMC are the ecological solution for today's requirement. All steel parts have the highest environmentally impact in rawmaterial consumption, energy consumption and CO2 emission. The main reason is the higher fuel consumption caused by thehigher weight.

The SMC shows the lowest raw material consumption, the lowestenergy consumption, as well as the lowest emissions.

The Fuel Consumption during the use of the vehicle has thebiggest impact on the ecological foot print.
