South Carolina
South Carolina State Trooper enforces all laws and other criminal laws. Patrols the highways of the state of South Carolina,
investigates collisions, serve as witness on criminal and civil courts. State Troopers
maintains reports concerning enforcement activities, provides information to the public regarding vehicle laws. State
troopers are responsible and accountable for handling public funds.

15 weeks of intensive training at the SCCJA
3 weeks for currently certify SC Law Enforcement Class 1 officer.

Selection Process
Recruitment:
21 years of age before day1 of basic training.
Valid SC drivers license, or from current state of living
U.S Citizen High School Graduate or
GED 20/20 vision or no more
than 20/100 corrected vision to 20/20.
NO criminal record Clear from driver’s
license suspension for the last 5 years. No alcohol violation, drug violation, or leaving the scene violation.
MUST be able to perform ALL essential, and job functions.
Copy of H.S diploma or GED certificate
Certify college transcripts if applicable Copy of DD214 if served in the
military Birth Certificate Current (head to toe) photograph Copy of SC drivers license and if had a
drivers license in another state must have a certify drivers record.
Polygraph Examination PT Test Written examination ( only if pass PT,
examination will be on the same day) Background Examination Selection Review Board Medical, drug, and psychological test Final offer of Employment with district
Assignment.
