About us - BIT Mesra

For over ftve decades, BIT Mesra (located 16 kms from Ranchi, the Jharkhand state-capital) has been engaged in nurturing minds through a rich heritage of academic excellence. Essentially a hub of bustling student activities, the beautiful campus has been a second-home to thousands of students in their journey to challenge the times. Established in 1955 by visionary-industrialist Mr B.M. Birla, it is today one of the most premier engineering destinations in India.

BIT, Mesra is a "Deemed University" under Sec. 3 of the U.G.C. Act 1956. The Board of Governors is responsible for the main functions and overall supervision of activities. It comprises representatives of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the U.G.C., the State Government, The Chancellor, the AICTE, The Hindustan Charity Trust and the Institute Faculty.

Our Vision To become a Globally Recognised Academic Institution in consonance with the social, economic and ecological environment, striving continuously for excellence in education, research, and technological service to the National needs.

Birla Institute of Technology Patna Campus

The Patna Extension Centre of Birla Institute of Technology was established in 2006, as a result of an initiative from the Govt. of Bihar. Since then it has been growing continuously and establishing academic landmarks. The Patna Campus of the institute is ftrst-of-its-kind,dedicated fully to the course of Engineering & Technology.The institute is in well resonance with the main campus at Mesra Ranchi and there is a regular exchange of resources between the two campuses of BIT. All the departments and units are centrally coordinated by those at Mesra Main Campus and are an integral part of it.

About TECHNIKA

Technika is the annual festival of Birla Institute of Technology, Patna campus. It celebrates excellence in the f1elds of engineering and management. Since 2009, Technika has promoted scientific temper, creative thinking and innovation. A well-known festival in the college fest circuit, Technika draws enthusiastic participation from various colleges of the country every year since its inception.

Various events encompassing different streams of study are held to cater interests of all students. Technika provides a forum to brainstorm new ideas, discover unknown f1elds of interests and expose students to quality competition, in an enjoyable setting. Technical events, workshops, guest lectures and fun events are all packed into the four day extravaganza that is Technika. On a broader level, also acts as an interface between the students and their respective industries, helping students in their skill development.

With years of experience now behind our backs mixed with the creativity and enthusiasm of the present organizing team, Technika is destined to break all previous records to become bigger and better in 2015.
