“My father’s appreciation of France, French Culture and almost anything French has had a great influence on me. As a child in China, a place which is so remote from the largest country in Western Europe, I started to read all things related to France ...long before the Internet was invented.

“Paris is dear to my heart because I appreciate the humanist dimension of its people – the ingenious ways they create art and preserve the ancient cultural treasures ... “In 1995, a 26-year-old Frenchman, in whose honor our Foundation is named, entered my life on the Stevens Institute of Technology campus in Hoboken. I am eternally grateful to Stevens, where this beautiful story started. We had a wonderful six years together...

“We arrived from foreign countries and met as graduate students at university. America offered us many opportunities – better living standards, more personal freedom, and a chance to experience cultural pluralism and religious tolerance. By our own choice, we became Americans.”
