    Dear Williams School Families,

    Robert Frost is one of my favorite poets. I thought I would share what is probably one of his most famous poems from 1916s

    Mountain Interval. Its genesis was stated by the author back in August of 1953:

    "One stanza of 'The Road Not Taken' was written while I was sitting on a sofa in the middle of England: was found three or four

    years later, and I couldn't bear not to finish it. I wasn't thinking about myself there, but about a friend who had gone off to war,

    a person who, whichever road he went, would be sorry he didn't go the other. He was hard on himself that way."

    While I am not going off to war, nor do I have any regrets at all, I can relate to being hard on yourself and others and believe

    that the paths we take in life truly do make all the difference.

    The Road Not Taken

    Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,And sorry I could not travel both

    And be one traveler, long I stood

    And looked down one as far as I couldTo where it bent in the undergrowth;

    Then took the other, as just as fair,

    And having perhaps the better claim,

    Because it was grassy and wanted wear;Though as for that the passing there

    Had worn them really about the same,

    And both that morning equally lay

    In leaves no step had trodden black.

    Oh, I kept the first for another day!

    Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

    I doubted if I should ever come back.

    I shall be telling this with a sigh

    Somewhere ages and ages hence:

    Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-

    I took the one less traveled by,

    And that has made all the difference.

    As you leave for a long weekend, please remember all those who chose a road less traveled by most Americans- Those men andwomen who are currently serving in our armed forces, those who have served in our armed forces, and those who made the

    ultimate sacrifice so that we may enjoy the freedoms that we so often take for granted.

    Final examinations will be administered on June 3, June 6, and June 7 according to the schedule printed below. Dismissal

    times for middle school students will vary and are explained below. Students may only leave early if they return the

    signed permission slip. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these early dismissals; however, students who are

    unable to leave will attend silent study hall until dismissal. Please note that these are not help sessions. All help sessions

    will have already occurred earlier in the day. Lunch will be offered for students who remain until the regular dismissal

    time.

    Grades Six, Seven, and Eight: On Monday at 12:30 pm and Tuesday at 11:00 students who have their parentspermission may be dismissed following their exams. Buses will not run at this time; therefore, students who would

    normally ride the bus will need to arrange alternative transportation if they are going to leave early on exam days. The

    school will supervise students who choose to remain until regular dismissal at 3:15 PM. On Tuesday, 6th

    & 7th grade non-

    band students will be dismissed at 11:00 AM following their exam. Eighth grade students and 6th

    and 7th

    band students

    will remain behind for graduation practice until 12:00. There will be no lunch served on half day dismissals unless a

    student is staying until the regular dismissal time.

    -*Reservations are required, by calling 627-1383 x241. Minimum 8 students Maximum 20, per day. The minimum of 8

    reservations must be received by 10:00 am, Friday, 6/3/11. If the minimum enrollment of 8 is not reached by the above

    deadline, the following sliding scale applies per child if 3- 7 children are enrolled: 3 children - $90.00, 4 children - $70.00, 5

    children - $58.00, 6 children - $50.00, 7 children - $45.00.

    -All fees are included for any off campus field trips, crafts, lunch, and snack.

    -By enrolling your child in Camp Williams, you are giving your permission for your child to attend the listed on and off

    campus activities.

    -Camp Williams staff may be reached on the Extended Day cell phone, 237-1875 at all times during the day.

    -If you wish your child to have sun screen or insect repellant, please fill out the Medication Administration Form and sendthe product and the form in with your child on the day or days of enrollment. Forms are available from the front office,

    Extended Day or the website.

    -Please let us know if you will not be able to drop your child off by departure time, as there is no available care for your

    child at school.

    **We will have early drop off at 7:30am for $5.00, extra. Reservations required!
