Abstract
Learn how Zero Touch Deployment and Cisco Prime Infrastructure can enable
assurance in your enterprise.
Cisco Prime Infrastructure (PI) LAN Management Solution (LMS) is a very powerful
tool for managing virtually all aspects of your network. With all of its capabilities, it may
be easy to overlook some of PI's features that can make configuring, monitoring and
understanding your network easier. In this session, we will start with a brief overview of
PI, then jump into tips and tricks using various PI features to help you get the most out
of your network management platform. Some of the examples discussed will be
configuration compliance, flexible configuration templates, advanced reporting, Smart
Interactions, and technology readiness assessments. This session is relevant to
network management administrators, engineers, and system integrators using Cisco
Prime Infrastructure in their enterprise. Attendees should already be familiar with the
basics of Prime LMS.

Why Zero-touch Provisioning?
Estimation that 80% of network downtime can be attributed to
human error
Networks are getting more complex
Manual configuration is slow
People are expensive
Travel is expensive

Plug-N-Play Workflow Overview
Pre-Provisioning
Network administrator creates the
device PNP automated deployment
template in Prime Infrastructure
Administrator specifies the name of
the device, desired configuration and
image, and optionally the device
serial number and a bootstrap
configuration
A deployment PIN number is
generated and emailed to the
installer
Installation
Installer connects the device in its
final location
Installer starts the provisioning by
entering the location PIN. PnP App
will register the device serial number
using the deployment PIN with PnP
Gateway
PnP App bootstraps the device
Installer monitors the deployment
status
