TOURINGCARAVANINSURANCEPOLICY–IMPORTANTNOTICE

Thispolicyisanagreementbetweenyou(thepersonshowninyourscheduleastheInsured)andUs(BritSyndicate2987atLloyd’s).Youmustreadthispolicytogetherwithyourscheduleandanyspecificationsorendorsementsasonecontract.Pleasereadallofthemtomakesurethattheyprovidethecoveryouaskedfor.Iftheydonot,pleasecontactCoastassoonaspossible.Wewillinsureyouagainstloss,damageorlegalliabilitywhichmayoccurduringthePeriodofInsuranceinaccordancewiththeSectionsspecifiedintheschedulesubjecttotheexclusions,conditionsandendorsementsofthepolicyinreturnforpaymentbyyouofthePremium.InformationYouHaveGivenUsIndecidingtoacceptthispolicyandinsettingthetermsandpremium,WehavereliedontheinformationyouhavegivenUs.YoumusttakecarewhenansweringanyquestionsWeaskbyensuringthatallinformationprovidedisaccurateandcomplete.IfWeestablishthatyoudeliberatelyorrecklesslyprovidedUswithfalseormisleadinginformationWewilltreatthispolicyasifitneverexistedanddeclineallclaims.IfWeestablishthatyoucarelesslyprovidedUswithfalseormisleadinginformationitcouldadverselyaffectyourpolicyandanyclaim.Forexample,Wemay:• treatthispolicyasifithadneverexistedandrefusetopayallclaimsandreturnthepremium

• amendthetermsofyourinsurance.Wemayapplytheseamendedtermsasiftheywerealreadyinplaceifaclaimhasbeenadverselyimpactedbyyourcarelessness;

• reducetheamountWepayonaclaimintheproportionthepremiumyouhavepaidbearstothepremiumWewouldhavechargedyou;or

• cancelyourpolicyinaccordancewiththerighttocancelconditionbelow.WeorCoastwillwritetoyouifWe:• intendtotreatyourpolicyasifitneverexisted;or• needtoamendthetermsofyourpolicy.IfyoubecomeawarethattheinformationyouhavegivenUsisinaccurate,youmustinformCoastassoonaspracticable.ChoiceofLawYourpolicyisgovernedbythelawthatappliestowhereyouresidewithintheUnitedKingdom.Ifthereisanydisagreementaboutwhichlawapplies,Englishlawwillapply.UseofLanguageUnlessotherwiseagreed,thecontractualtermsandconditionsandotherinformationrelatingtothiscontractwillbeinEnglish.

Articlesforpersonaluseoradornment,clothing,luggageandgeneralhouseholdgoods,includingportabletelevisionsetswhilstcontainedwithintheCaravanandbelongingtotheInsuredortheInsured’sFamily.YourSumInsuredshouldrepresentthecostofthereplacementitemsatthetimeofloss.

NewforOld–yourchosenSumInsuredmustbesufficienttobuyabrandnewequivalentCaravanatthetimeoftheloss.Thisissubjecttothelossordamageoccurringwithin15yearsfrompurchasenew.

SECTIONA–CARAVAN,CONTENTS,PERSONALEFFECTS,AWNINGANDMOTORMOVERTheUnderwriterswillpayforlossordamagecausedbyAccidentalDamage,Fire,Theft,Vandalism,StormorFloodwithintheTerritorialLimitsduringthePeriodofInsurance.(A)i. totheCaravanandfollowingsuch

damageforthereasonablecostof:1. protectionandremovaltothe

nearestrepairers2.

a. deliveryafterrepairtotheInsuredwithinGreatBritain;or

b. deliveryafterrepairtotheriskaddress,wheretheriskaddressshownontheschedulestatesthattheCaravanisusuallystoredorsitedonthemainlandofEurope

3. thedisconnectionandre-connectionofserviceswhentheCaravanisremovedforrepair,wheretheCaravanisconnectedtoservices

ii. totheContentsandPersonalEffects

a. TheUnderwriterswillpaytotheInsuredthevalueofthepropertyatthetimeoflossordestructionorshallattheiroptionrepair,reinstateorreplacesuchpropertyoranypartofitprovidedthatthetotalliabilityoftheUnderwritersshallnotexceed£500,inrespectofanyonearticle,unlessspecifiedinthescheduleandintotaltheSumInsured

b. IntheeventofanyoftheContentsandPersonalEffects,exceptforhouseholdlinenand/orclothing,beinglostordamagedbeyondeconomicrepairwithinoneyearofpurchaseasnewand

providedtheSumInsuredrepresentsthefullreplacementasnew,atthetimeoflossordamage,theUnderwriterswillpayforthereplacementofsuchpropertyasnewatthetimeofthelossordamageprovidedthatthereplacementarticleissubstantiallythesameasbutnotbetterthantheoriginalarticleasnew.Nodeductionwillbemadeforwearandtear.

costofreplacingorrepairinganyundamagedpartsoftheCaravanand/orContentsandPersonalEffectswhichformpartofapair,set,orsuiteorpartofacommondesignorfunctionwhenthedamageisrestrictedtoaclearlydefinableareaortoaspecificpart

b. anyavailablediscountwillbetakenintoaccountinthesettlementamount

c. thetotalliabilityoftheUnderwritersshallnotexceedthetotalvalueofsuchpropertywhenpurchasednew

AWNINGANDMOTORMOVERCOVERONLYAPPLIESIFYOUHAVECHOSENTOCOVERTHESEITEMSANDTHEYARESPECIFIEDONYOURSCHEDULE(A)iitotheAwning(subjecttothelimitofindemnityof£3,000)IntheeventoftheAwningbeinglostordamagedbeyondeconomicrepairwithin15yearsfromthedateofpurchaseasnew,theUnderwriterswillreplacetheAwningwithanewoneofthesamemanufactureandmodel.Anyavailablediscountwillbetakenintoaccountinthesettlement.(A)iiitotheMotorMover(subjecttotheSumInsuredspecifiedontheschedule)Anydamageresultingfrommechanicalfailureorbreakdownwillnotbecovered.EXTENSIONSTOSECTIONAa. TheSumInsuredwillnotbereducedby

aclaimpaymentexceptintheeventoftheCaravanbeingstolenortotallydestroyed.AnewschedulewillberequiredforanyreplacementCaravan

b. Intheeventofaclaimbeingmetunderthisinsurancetotallinginexcessof£500,theannualsubscriptionformembershipoftheInsured’scaravanclubfortheyearcoveringthedateoftheclaimwillbepaid.Thispaymentwillberestrictedtooneclubonlyandpayableonproductionofareceiptormembershipcard.Thelimitofindemnityunderthisextensionis£50

c. IntheeventoftheInsuredoramemberoftheInsured’sFamilybeingunabletodriveduetoillnessoraccidentwhenawayonabookedholidayintheCaravanandnoothermemberofthepartyontheholidaybeingabletodriveorhavingtoweda

Caravanbefore,theUnderwriterswillpaythereasonablecostsofreturningtheCaravantotheCaravanstorageaddressoftheInsured.Thelimitofindemnityunderthissectionis£1,000.

creditorchargecardsorbusinessbooksordocumentsofanykind

2. lossofordamagetowatches,jewellery,furs,andarticlesofgold,silverorotherpreciousmetalscontactlenses,spectacles,itemsofsportsequipmentvalued£50orover,photographicequipment,binoculars,camcorders,mobiletelephones,computerhardwareorsoftware,motordrivenvehiclesofanykindortheiraccessories,pedalcyclesorwaterbornecraftofanydescription

3. depreciation,deterioration,manufacturingdefects,wearandtear,damagebymoth,vermin,mildew,rot,waterleakageoranygraduallyoperatingprocess

4. mechanicalorelectricalbreakdownorfailure

5. damagetotyresunlesscausedbyanaccidenttotheCaravanorvandalism

6. theftfromtheCaravanunlessforcibleorviolentmeansareusedtogainentry

7. theftoraccidentallossfromAwningsortoilettentsexceptforoutsidefurniturewhentheCaravanisinuse,subjecttoanoveralllimitof£500

8. thefirst£50ofeachandeveryclaimoroccurrenceexceptintheeventofdamagesolelytowindows,wherenoexcessispayable

9. lossordamageincircumstanceswhereaclaimfordamageresultsintheCaravanneedingnewpartsoraccessorieswhicharefoundtobeobsoleteorunobtainable.TheUnderwriters’liabilitywillbelimitedtothelastknownlistpriceofthepartoraccessoryrequired,togetherwiththeappropriatefittingcharge

10. anytheftorlossarisingfromdeception,financialloss,ortheuseofstolen,forgedorinvalidcheques,drafts,banknotesandthelike

11. lossordamagebytheftorattemptedtheftoftheCaravanwhilstunattendedinexcessoftwohoursunless:a. forsingleaxleCaravans–awheel

clampandahitchlockarefitted;or

b. fortwinaxleCaravans–twowheelclampsandahitchlockarefitted,orawheelclampandhitchlockarefittedandaburglaralarmortrackerisinoperation;or

c. forfoldingcampersortrailertents–theyarecontainedinalockedgarage/buildingattheInsured’shomeaddress;or

d. whilstthecaravaniskeptinstorageataCaSSOAGoldstoragesitetheCaravanisnotrequiredtohaveahitchlockand/orwheelclamp(s)attachedtoit.Atallothertimesourminimumsecurityrequirementofahitchlockandwheelclamp(s)apply;

e. ofanyitemleftinanunlockedCaravan

Alltheitemsina.andb.mustbeofproprietarymanufacture.ImportantNote:ifyouhavetoldCoastyouhaveanalarmoratracker,theymustalsobeactivatedwhenleavingyourCaravanunattendedinexcessoftwohours.

BASISOFCLAIMSSETTLEMENTSECTIONA(A)iCaravana. MarketValue–TheUnderwriterwill

decidewhethertorepairorreplacetheCaravanandContentsandPersonalEffects.Ifitcannotberepairedorreplacedorisbeyondeconomicrepair,theywillpaythemarketvalueatthetimeofthelossordamage,butnotmorethantheSumInsuredstatedonyourpolicyschedule,orsinglearticlelimit,whicheverislower.TheUnderwriterwillnotbeliableforthatpartoranyrepairorreplacementwhichimprovestheCaravanoritsequipmentbeyondtheconditionbeforethelossordamageoccurred

b. NewforOld-theUnderwriterwilldecidewhethertorepairorreplacetheCaravanandanyitemsofcontentsandpersonaleffectsthatarelostordamaged.Ifitcannotberepairedorisbeyondeconomicrepairtheywillreplaceitwithanewone,ofthesamemakeandmodelornearestequivalent,providedtheSumInsuredasstatedonyourpolicyschedulerepresentsthecostofabrandnewequivalent,orsinglearticlelimitstatedinyourpolicydocument,whicheverislower.Anyavailablediscountwillbetakenintoaccountinthesettlement

EXTENSIONTOSECTION(A)iIntheeventofaclaimbeingsettledunderthetermsofthisinsurancefortherepairofanydamagedwindowsoftheCaravananynoclaimdiscountattachingtothepolicywillnotbeaffected.(A)iiContentsandPersonalEffectsTheUnderwriterwillpaytotheInsuredthevalueofthepropertyatthetimeofitslossordestructionorshallatitsoptionrepair,reinstateorreplacesuchpropertyoranypartofitprovidedthatthetotalliabilityoftheUnderwritershereundershallnotexceed£500,inrespectofanyonearticle,unlessspecifiedinthescheduleandintotaltheSumInsuredSECTIONB–LIABILITYTOTHEPUBLICAllthesumswhichtheInsuredshallbecomelegallyliabletopayasdamagesinrespectof:i. accidentaldeathoforbodilyinjuryto

anypersonotherthantheInsuredoranyemployeeormemberoftheInsured’sFamily

ii. accidentallossofordamagetopropertynotbelongingtoorinthecustodyoftheInsuredoranyemployeeormemberoftheInsured’sFamilyarisingfromuseoftheCaravan

ThelimitoftheUnderwriters’liabilityinrespectofallclaimsarisingfromonecauseis£2millionpluslegalcostsrecoverablebyaclaimant,andcostsandexpensesincurredwiththeUnderwriters’writtenconsent.IntheeventofthedeathoftheInsuredhis/herlegalpersonalrepresentativeswillbeindemnifiedinrespectofanyaccidentcoveredbythissectionandoccurringduringthePeriodofInsurance.

Forthepurposesofthissectiontheexpression“TheInsured”willbedeemedtoincludeanypersonsusingtheCaravanwiththeconsentoftheInsuredotherthanwhilstletforreward.EXCEPTIONSTOSECTIONBThissectiondoesnotindemnifytheInsuredagainstanyliability:a. arisingwhiletheCaravanisattachedto

amechanicallypropelledvehicleb. resultingfromanaccidentcausedby

theCaravanorpartthereofbecomingdetachedfromanytowingvehicle

c. thatarisesinconnectionwithanyvehiclebeingusedforthetransportationoftheCaravan

d. forthedeathorinjuryofanypersonarisingoutoforinthecourseoftheiremploymentbytheInsured

e. arisingoutoftheuseofanymechanicallypropelledvehicle/watercraft

f. ifsuchliabilityattachesbyvirtueofanagreementbutwhichwouldnothaveattachedintheabsenceofsuchagreement

g. arisingoutofthepollutionofair,waterorsoilunlessitcanbeprovedtohavebeencausedbyimmediatedischargeconsequentuponanaccident

h. ofwhatsoevernaturearisingoutoforconnectedwithorincidentaltoanyprofession,occupation,businessorcommercialventure

i. arisingdirectlyorindirectlyoutofthetransmissionofanycommunicablediseaseorconditionbyanypersoninsuredhereunder

j. arisingoutoftheownershiporpossessionofanyanimalotherthancats,dogsorhorses,exceptanydogthatisdesignateddangerousundertheDangerousDogsAct1991

k. occurringwherethelossisalsocoveredunderanotherinsurance

SECTIONC–LOSSOFUSEANDHIRINGCHARGESIftheCaravanisrendereduninhabitablebylossordamageforwhichaclaimispayableunderSectionA,theUnderwriterswillpay:a. thenecessarycostincurredfor

alternativeaccommodationorthehireofasimilarCaravanbutonlyifthelossordamageoccursafterholidayarrangementshavebeenmadeorwhiletheCaravanisbeingusedforholidaypurposes,or

b. forthelossofhiringchargesforbookingsacceptedpriortothelossordamagebutonlyifarecordhasbeenmaintainedofallhiring,agreedhiringchargesanddepositspaid

Theamountpayableunderthissectionshallnotexceed£50perdayforamaximumof30days.SECTIOND–PERSONALACCIDENTBENEFITSBenefits:1. Death-£20,0002. Lossofuseofoneormorelimbsor

ordirectlyworkingupontheCaravan3. sustainedduringthePeriodof

InsurancewhileintheCaravanorwithintheboundariesofalegitimatesiteinwhichtheCaravanissited

GENERALCONDITIONS(ApplicabletothewholeInsurance)1. Youmustdoallyoucantoprevent

andreduceanycosts,damage,injuryorloss.

2. YoumusttellCoastaboutanyloss,damageorliabilityassoonaspossibleandprovidealltherelevantinformationandhelpthatisneededtodealwithyourclaim.YoumustavoiddiscussingliabilitywithanyoneelsewithoutOurpermission.

3. Itisyourresponsibilitytoproveanylossandthereforeyoumaybeaskedtoprovidereceipts,valuations,photographs,instructionbookletsandguaranteecardsandanyotherrelevantinformation,documentsandassistancerequiredtohelpwithyourclaim.

4. Coastwilldecidehowtosettleordefendaclaimandmaycarryoutproceedingsinthenameofanypersoncoveredbyyourpolicy,includingproceedingsforrecoveringanyclaim.

5. Youmustreportanyloss,theft,attemptedtheftormaliciousdamagetothePoliceandobtainacrimereferencenumberwithin7daysofdiscoveryoftheincident.

6. IfyourclaimisinanywaydishonestorexaggeratedWewillnotpayanybenefitunderthispolicyorreturnanyPremiumtoyouandWemaycancelyourpolicyimmediatelyandbackdatethecancellationtothedateofthefraudulentclaim.Wemayalsotakelegalactionagainstyou.

7. Ifanyclaimiscoveredbyanyotherinsurance,Wewillnotpayformorethanourshareofthatclaim.

8. Youmusttakereasonablecareto

providecompleteandaccurateanswerstothequestionsCoastasks.

9. IfanyoftheinformationprovidedbyyouchangesafteryoupurchaseyourpolicyandduringthePeriodofInsurance,oronyourscheduleatrenewal,orbecomesuntrueorincorrect,pleaseprovideCoastwithupdateddetails.

10. Ifanyoftheinformationprovidedbyyouisnotcompleteandaccurate:a) We/Coastmaycancelyour

policyandrefusetopayanyclaim,or

b) We/Coastmaynotpayanyclaiminfull,or

c) We/CoastmayrevisethePremiumand/orchangeanyexcess,or

d) theextentofthecovermaybeaffected.

Thechanges,ifacceptedbyUswillapplyfromthedateindicatedonyourupdatedschedule.Inthiscase,WewillbeentitledtovarythePremiumandtermsfortherestofthePeriodofInsurance.

11. Coastrecommendthatyoukeeparecord(includingcopiesofletters)ofallinformationprovidedtoUs/Coastforyourfuturereference.

12. IfyouarepayingthePremiumusingamonthlycreditfacility,youmustmaketheregularmonthlypaymentsasrequiredinthecreditagreement.Ifthecreditagreementisterminatedfornon-payment,WemaycancelthisinsuranceassetoutinGeneralCondition17.

13. Coastwillcontactyouinwritingatleast21daysbeforeyourrenewaldateandwilleither:

a) giveyouanopportunitytorenewyourinsuranceforafurtheryearand:

i. tellyouaboutanychangesWearemakingtothetermsandconditionsofyourpolicy;

ii. reviewyourcircumstancesandconsiderwhetherthisinsurancecontinuestomeetyourneeds;

iii. checkthattheinformationyouhaveprovidedUsisstillcorrect,andprovidetheopportunityforyoutotellUsifanythinghaschanged

iv. tellyouthepriceforthenextyear

Ifyouwishtomakeanychangesatrenewal,pleasecontactCoast.

ORb) letyouknowthatWeareunable

torenewyourinsurance.Reasonswhythismayhappeninclude,butarenotlimitedtothefollowing:

i. whentheproductisnolongeravailable;or

ii. whenWearenolongerpreparedtoofferyouinsuranceforreasonssuchas:

• Wereasonablysuspectfraud,

• yourclaimshistory,• WehavechangedOur

acceptancecriteria,• Youarenolongereligiblefor

cover,and/or

• whereyouhavenottakenreasonablecaretoprovidecompleteandaccurateanswerstothequestionsasked.Seethe“ImportantNotice–InformationYouHaveGivenUs”sectionwithinthisdocument.SeeGeneralCondition10.

WhereWehaveofferedyourenewaltermsandyouselectorhaveselectedtopaybydirectdebit,youwillbenotifiedbeforeyourrenewaldatethatthepolicywillautomaticallyberenewedandtherenewalPremiumwillagainbecollectedfromyourspecifiedbankaccount.Coastwillnotautomaticallyrenewyourpolicyif:• youhavecontactedthemto

cancelyourdirectdebitarrangementssinceyoupurchasedthepolicyoryourlastrenewal;or

• theycannolongerofferyoutheirdirectdebitfacilityif,forexample,youhaveapoorpaymenthistoryoradversecredithistory.

IfeitheroftheabovehappensCoastwilladviseyouofthisinyourrenewalletterandyouwillneedtocontactCoasttomakepaymentbeforethepolicycanberenewed.

14. Acoolingoffperiod(14daysfromtherenewalofthecontractorthedateonwhichyoureceiveyourrenewaldocumentation,whicheveristhelater)applies.Pleaseread“yourcancellationrights”inthispolicybooklet.

15. Wemayvarythetermsofthepolicy(includingthePremium)atrenewal.IfyoudecidethatyoudonotwantUstorenewthepolicy,aslongasyoutellCoastbeforethenextrenewaldate,Wewillnotrenewit.Ourrighttorenewthispolicydoesnotaffectyourcancellationrightsshownonthefirstpageofthispolicybooklet.

16. 17. We(oranyagentWeappointandwhoactswithOurspecificauthority)maycancelthispolicywherethereisavalidreasonfordoingso,bysendingatleast14days’writtennoticetoyourlastknownpostand/oremailaddresssettingoutthereasonforcancellation.Validreasonsincludebutarenotlimitedtothefollowing:• Non-paymentofPremium

(includingnon-paymentofinstalmentsunderacreditfacility).IfPremiumsorinstalmentpayment(s)arenotpaidwhendue,Coastwillwritetoyourequestingpaymentbyaspecificdate.Iftheyreceivepaymentbythedatesetoutintheletternofurtheractionwill

betaken.Iftheydonotreceivepaymentbythisdatethepolicywillbecancelledfromthecancellationdateshownontheletter.

• WhereWereasonablysuspectfraud.

• Whereyoufailtoco-operatewithUsorCoastorprovideinformationordocumentationreasonablyrequired,andthisaffectsourabilitytoprocessaclaimordefendourinterests.SeeGeneralCondition8inthispolicybooklet.

• Whereyouhavenottakenreasonablecaretoprovidecompleteandaccurateanswerstothequestionsasked.SeeGeneralCondition10.

IfWecancelthepolicyunderthissection,youwillbeentitledtoarefundofthePremiumpaidinrespectofthecancelledcover,lessaproportionatedeductionforthetimeWehaveprovidedsuchcoverandamid-termcancellationfee.Norefundwillbepayableifthereasonforcancellationisfraudand/orWearelegallyentitledtokeepthePremiumundertheConsumerInsurance(DisclosureandRepresentations)Act2012.Whereinvestigationsprovideevidenceoffraudoraseriousnon-disclosureWemaycancelthepolicyimmediatelyandbackdatethecancellationtothedateofthefraudorwhenyouprovidedUswithincompleteorinaccurateinformation,whichmayresultinyourpolicybeingcancelledfromthedateyouoriginallytookitout.

2. Anyliabilitywhichattachesbecauseofanyagreementbutwhichwouldnothaveattachedintheabsenceofthatagreement

3. LossofusewiththeexceptionofcoverprovidedbySectionC

4. Anyreductioninvalue5. Indirectlossofanykind6. Anyaccidentorincidentthathappens

outsideanyPeriodofInsurancethatiscoveredbythispolicy

7. Lossordamagetoanyitemsusedinconnectionwithanybusiness,tradeorprofession

8. Anylegalliabilityresultingfromanybusiness,tradeorprofession

9. Anyclaimresultingfrom:• deliberateorcriminalactsbythe

InsuredortheInsured’sFamilyoranyhirer,occupantoruseroftheCaravan

• riotandcivilcommotion• gradualcausesincluding

deteriorationorwearandtear• mildew,fungus,climaticor

atmosphericconditions,frost,wetordryrot

• anyprocessofcleaning,repairoralteration

• vermin,insectsorchewing,scratching,tearingorfoulingbypets

• electricalormechanicalfailureorbreakdown

• faultydesignmaterialsorworkmanship

• thefailureofacomputerchiporcomputersoftwaretorecogniseatruecalendardate

• computerviruses• ionisingradiation,radioactivity,

nuclearfuel,nuclearwasteorequipment

• war,revolutionoranysimilarevent

• pollutionorcontaminationwhichwas:o theresultofadeliberateacto expectedandnottheresult

ofasudden,unexpectedandidentifiableincident

10. Anyclaimarisingdirectlyorindirectlyfromanactofterrorism.Terrorismisdefinedasanyactoractsincluding,butnotlimitedto:• theuseorthreatofforceand/or

violenceand/or• harmordamagetolifeorto

property(orthethreatofsuchharmordamage)including,butnotlimitedto,harmordamagebynuclearand/or

• chemicaland/orbiologicaland/or• radiologicalmeans
