Welcome to
Brinsworth Manor

We can’t wait to see you in September.
Things are, and may be, a little bit
different than normal but here are
some of the things we think you might
like to know before you start at
Brinsworth Manor Juniors.

In the morning:
➢ You are allowed to come straight into school at 8.50am.
➢ There will be signs on the doors to let you
know where your classroom is! ➢ Your teacher will be waiting for you.
➢ If you are in Falcon Class with Mrs Rowbottom
you will go straight into the classroom – middle yard/ classroom door.
➢ If you are in Osprey Class with Miss Steventon you will go to the entrance on the middle yard. Your class name will be on the door.
➢ If you are in Eagle Class with Miss Mattingley you will go to the entrance that the Y3s normally use. Your class name will be on the door.

Year 3 and 4 doors
The door you will use to come into school or leave

Toilets
The toilets that you use will be in the corridors
near your classroom and look like this:

Where to put your things
Your coats and PE bags go in the corridor or on
special trolleys in your classroom that look like
this:

If you are having home sandwiches, then you will
put your lunch box on a trolley like this:
The trolleys will have your class name on so that
you know where to put your lunchbox.

In your classroom
You will be given a free PE bag and book
bag to carry any letters and your PE kit to
and from school.
You will get your own water bottle to use
in school.
Coloured crayons and all your equipment
will be provided by school and waiting for
you in your classroom.
You will have your own seat and drawer in
your classroom to keep all your books and
equipment in.

Breaks and Dinnertimes
At breaktimes, fruit and fruit juice are usually for
sale in the playground.
A piece of fruit costs 20p/half 10p
A carton of juice costs 20p
We have a friendship bench where you can meet
new friends.
We also have the climbing wall.

The MUGA
This is the MUGA where you may do PE outside
and is used for different games everyday day at
dinnertimes.

The Hall
The Hall is used for assemblies, dinnertimes and
indoor PE lessons if the weather is bad.
We also have a wonderful library in the hall, full of
fiction and nonfiction for you to read.

The Corridors
Our corridors are full of amazing work done by
Brinsworth Manor Pupils.
This is the Year 6 corridor to the office and reception.
Our trophy cabinet at the end of the corridor shows
medals and certificates children have earnt. We are
proud of the achievements of all the children in our
school. Have you got a certificate, trophy or medal that
you would like to put in the cabinet? We would love to
see it.

What a day may look like:
8:50am Register
Lesson 1 - English, Reading or Maths
Break time
Lesson 2 – English, Reading or Maths
Dinner time
Afternoon lessons – Subjects like art, history, geography, science, DT, French, RE, Computers, PSHE or PE including Daily Mile (or these might happen in the mornings too)
3:20 Home time
Some things may change from day to day but
don’t worry, your class teacher will let you know
of any changes as soon as they can. We also have
timetables up on the wall so you can check what
happens next throughout the day.

Our School Uniform
• Red sweatshirt / cardigan
• White or red polo shirt
• Black or grey trousers or skirt
• Black, white or grey socks
• Red or black tights
• Black shoes/black trainers (no logos or patterns)
• Black head scarf (where required)
For Summer
• Red checked dress (or ordinary uniform as above)
• Tailored shorts - black or grey (with school polo shirt / sweatshirt / cardigan)

PE Kit
• White T shirt
• Black shorts (black footless leggings for indoor if required)
• Black plimsolls or black trainers
• For outdoor P.E, children may bring a black tracksuit without logos or patterns.

Clubs
We have lots of brilliant clubs at Brinsworth
Manor
Breakfast Club (Not for first term)
Breakfast club is available to all children and is
open from 8am till 8:30am. You can have juice
with some fruit, cereal or a bagel while you sit and
chat to other children or join in on a mini activity.
If you are interested, places are £2 a day but are
limited so please apply at the Office.
After-school Clubs
We have lots of different clubs available
throughout the year. Some clubs we have had
previously are:
Cooking
Art
Football
Judo
Bird box making
And lots more. Something for everyone!

Interschool Competitions
Some of our sporting afterschool clubs can lead to
playing for the school team against other schools.
We also have mini competitions within year
groups, depending on what activity we are doing
in PE that term.

Parent activity morning
During the year we usually host a termly activity
morning where parents are invited into school to
do a craft or art activity. These are great fun and
we have some beautiful work produced from
them. We hope to resume these as soon as
possible.
