And as we’re the world leader in wiring devices, every part of the homesystem can be matched seamlessly with all switches and sockets.
06 Flexibility and choiceThe following pages offer a step-by-step guide to the various levels of functionality that canbe achieved using Legrand home systems. See how users can add smart features to anyhome, choosing whatever components are desired from the options below to create a tailormade solution.
AudioEnjoy your favourite CDs, MP3s,radio station or even the audiosignal from your TV anywhere in thehouse with distributed audio from acentral source to speakersthroughout the home.
VideoWhether you have Cable, Satelliteor Digital TV, video modules willdistribute TV, DVD and HD signalsfrom a central point to every TVscreen in the home.
Lighting
Everything from simple switch and
dimmer functions, through to
scenario lighting control switches
that can be used to activate preset
lighting levels.
EntertainmentComfort
DataAccess high speed internet andcomputer networks throughout thehome. Share printers, scanners andany other connected peripherals.
TelephoneBring multiple telephone and faxlines into the home and send themanywhere you want using a simple“plug and play” connection.
Door entryAudio and video systems enableusers to monitor who is visiting andcommunicate with them in thesafety of their own home.
Invest a little, gain a lot...the simple way to add valueAudio, data and telephone modules use Cat 5e (twisted pair) cable inrelevant areas. The cable will handle any of these functions (not specific toeach). The same cable can also be used for door entry... or alternatively, just two non-polarised wires. Video modules can also use Cat 5e cable, but co-ax is recommended for quality.
New lighting modules use standard twin and earth cable... needingnothing more than the live, neutral and earth cables that are installed and in use in any electrical installation.
Think of a house as an entity... living and breathing, with informationnetworks flowing through it like veins... feeding every room with intelligentfunctions and allowing them to interact for the perfect balance betweenentertainment, communication and control.
With this flexibility, rooms blend seamlessly into one, yet each with thecapacity for independent control, allowing users to see, hear and interactwith whatever they want, wherever they want.

08 ComfortLighting controls are the newest components in the home systems range, offering a step upfrom simple switch and dimmer control by enabling users to activate preset lighting levelsthat match their lifestyle.
Setting the scene...From single room control through to multispace lighting scenarios, our
latest additions to the Synergy range of wiring devices provide users with a
new level of control.... from standard switch and dimmer functions, to
lighting control scenario switches that can be programmed to activate
preset lighting levels ideal for anything from reading to watching a film.
And what’s more, the different scenarios can be operated by remote
control from anywhere in the room.
A preset lighting scenario could contribute to reducing energy use through the simple action of a single switch push that turns off or dims a series of light sources within a home.
Innovative thinkingThe lighting control range has been designed to operate via
mains power, meaning it needs nothing more than the live,
neutral and earth cables that are installed and in use in any
electrical installation.

By cascading an ethernet router, high speed internetis available to additional PCs.
Telephone modulesConnect up to four incoming telephone lines through one standard RJ45socket. Line one is primary at eight locations, line two at two locations andlines three and four at a single location on the module. All ports match TIA 568A specification and can be easily reconfigured to meet thehomeowner’s needs.

14 SecurityThe Bticino range of door entry systems protects the home by limiting access to privateareas whilst providing control over remote entry points and creating a securecommunications bridge to the outside world.
Convenience, safety and peace of mindStunning audio and video door entry solutions can now be created usingjust 2 non-polarised wires... with the added benefit of no additional wiringwhen upgrading from audio to video.
Apartment blocks are the traditional home of the door entry systembecause of the long distances between the main entrance and theaccommodation. Increasingly, however, private homes are also takingadvantage of the security benefits offered by access control.
The emphasis on offering something extra to potential home buyers hasincreased significantly in recent times. High quality, hi-tech door entrysystems are proven to add that something extra to any residential venue.
