Training Courses

One of the necessary issues for the budding engineers is the interaction with industries. Indo German Tool Room, (A Govt. Of India Society, Under Ministry of MSME) is a Training and Production Centre at Aurangabad. The activities at IGTR are Tool Design and Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Calibration Services, Consultancy and Training. The Training Programmes suitable for our students are Certificate Courses in Mechatronics, PLC & SCADA, VLSI & Embedded Systems, Advance Networking etc. In collaboration with Indo-German Tool Room, Aurangabad, a one week STTP on PLC programming was successfully arranged for the students of Electronics and Electrical departments. Hands-on training and thorough knowledge was received by the participants. This was executed from 27-07-2015 to 01-08-2015.

Followed by this, a two week exhaustive training program on VLSI and Embedded Programming was arranged with Indo-German Tool Room, from 08-08-2015 to 23-08-2015. The student participants are trained on these two programming aspects as per the industry requirements. On the last day of this workshop all the participants visited the IGTR premises and received detailed knowledge of all the working procedures. During the campus placements in near future, the performances of these participants will definitely give them a big success. In-charge: Mrs. P.K. Ghuge.

We strive to create, nurture and sustain a healthy and mutually beneficial relationship at all leaves and sectors of industries. Though this we desire to remain permanently relevant to the cause of engineering and to be useful to the society by providing skilled personnel as per the needs of the industries.

Industry Visits

Industrial visits are regularly planned for the students of Electronics department. This year a visit to the Institute of Satellite Tele Communication (ISTC), Kharadi, Pune was arranged for final year students. The services provided by the company include supply, installation and commissioning of Earth Station Antenna. The company also takes up the services like installation, servicing and maintenance of Satellite Based Equipments. This one day Industrial Training Program was very much interesting. During the visit, the students learned the basics of Satellite communication, remote controlling from ground stations and monitoring issues. Students were also exposed to Direct to Home System. Visit to this company helped the students to develop an interest towards job opportunities in this area. The staff coordinators for this visit were Mr. V.V. Kulkarni, Mrs. M.R. Rajput and Mr. A.A. Shirsath.

The students of BE-EC visited “Aurangabad Electricals”, Chakan plant. This company is the supplier of aluminium machine components for two-wheelers and three-wheelers and also for cars. In this company the students were exposed to different types of automation processes such as real time die casting, which is related to the subjects such as Embedded Systems. Different processes where human presence is to be avoided such as tool cutting, finishing of different machine parts, are carried out by robots. These processes helped the students for understanding of the subject Robotics.

The “Electronically Controlled Wheelchair”, “Palm Movement Control for Old People”, “Modern Public Distribution System for Digital India”, “Dynamic mode analysis of EEG Data for assisting the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease” are some examples related to this issue.

3. Personality Development, Youth Awareness and Motivation and Diet Management were the topics explained and discussed in a one day workshop organized by our institute. The staff members and students of our department participated in this workshop session and got the important tips.

Environmental Awareness

1. Tree plantation: Considering the need of today and requirement of protection of nature it is necessary to carry out mega campaigns of Tree Plantation. The staff and students of our department take active participation in such campaigns.

2. Clean India Activity: “Clean surrounding keeps a mind clean” Considering this truth, the movement of institute campus cleaning and department cleaning was initiated and the motto was reached.

Alumni Interaction

Interaction of existing students with industries is utmost important for many reasons. Our alumni can play a vital role in this regard. A channelized program series of such interaction is carried out and four successful sessions were conducted:

1. On 14-02-2016, Mr. Vishal Kulkarni (Alumni – 2009) has given live demonstrations about various measurements related to Fibre Optic Cables used in Trunking in BTS connectivity. Fibre splicing, types of losses, OTDR and related measurements are also briefed.

2. Field visit to a BTS network tower near our university was carried out on 05-03-2016. Mr. Vishal has explained all the details of control room devices, antennae, transceivers etc. This practical knowledge was very much useful for the students related to the subject Mobile Communication.

3. Expert talk on Telecom sector, working and opportunities in it by Mr. Sagar Dalvi (2014 alumni) was held on 12-03-2016. This was a very good session conducted at right time for the final year appearing students. The feedback report taken from the students indicate its usefulness.

4. Networking is a good career track. One of our students Mr. Mohsin Khan (Alumni-2015) has undergone an excessive training on networking. He was called on 18-03-2016 to give an expert talk on this topic and his experiences.
