What is Earth Designs?

Earth Designs was formed in 2003. Our aim is to provide our clients with a garden space that reflects their lifestyle and personality, making

our work stylish and innovative without being intimidating. From our no-nonsense, ‘down to earth’ consultations to our after-care packages, we

offer a total, ‘concept to creation’ service to our clients.

We have compiled this garden design package based on the concept drawing discussed in your

initial design consultation. This presentation, along with your visualisation and design,

should hold all the information you need to give you a clear mental picture of how the

garden will look. If you have any questions about the design or its implementation, please

don’t hesitate to ask.

For your piece of mind Earth Designs is a fully

insured registered company. Should you wish to see

our insurance certificates please let us know. For

mutual protection, all work is completed under

signed contracts.


Who are Earth Designs?

Katrina is the Managing and Creative Director here at Earth Designs. It will

be her you will have met at your initial consultation and she runs the design

side of the company.

Wherever possible, all work is completed by our in-house team, including hard landscaping,

structural design, and water features. Other services, such as tree surgery and electrical

installation, are out-sourced to specially selected professionals

As Operations Director, her husband Matt oversees the build side of the

company. Should you commission an Earth Designs garden Matt will be your

first point of contact for all build related questions.

Your garden in words

This riverside terrace garden has been designed with relaxation and sophistication in mind. The focus is on simplicity,

combining high-quality features with a hint of playfulness, to avoid detracting from the magnificent

views of the River Thames and Tower Bridge

beyond.

Yellow Balau smooth planed hardwood decking will provide a contemporary finish to the flooring throughout, arranged to draw the eye

out across the river and chosen to reflect the terrace’s waterside character.

To the left hand side of the terrace a slightly raised deck will provide a

platform for a lounge area, featuring a large mattress weatherproof

mattress and cushions, from which to relax and enjoy the view of the

bridge. A small waterproof storage area beneath this platform will keep the cushions dry and clean over the winter months.

A stunning illuminated cube water feature, flanked on either side by eye-catching Cordylines contained in self-illuminated planters, will be

installed along the rear boundary wall directly opposite the patio doors, to create an impressive welcome to

the space. Further framing to the terrace will be provided by an illuminated planter

installed beside both of the pillars supporting the balcony of the flat above. Planting

has been selected for low maintenance, all year interest and wind tolerance.

The right hand side of the terrace will form the main dining area. Featuring funky illuminated curved seating and three bespoke mobile

decking stools around a central glass topped illuminated table, the area will offer ample opportunity for alfresco entertaining both day and

night.

Groups of column lights of varying heights will be set adjacent to the dining area and on the raised platform. These will include decorative columns with coloured blue inlays, as well as plain

rectangular pillar lights. The lighting focal point will be a fun sculptural 6-pointed star placed in the right hand corner of the terrace.
