Can you tell us about your current role Irsquove been given the job of la nching a long-term project to harmonise packaging right across the savo ry range gathering information and ideas from different regional and specs teams and then working o t a way forward I love that what Irsquom doing is completely new and the fact that it can potentially inf ence so many different people and co ntries The whole thing is from scratch which means I can really shape whatrsquos best for the project

So you are driving this project yourself Yes kind of Itrsquos q ite impressive how m ch responsibility they have given me ndash obvio sly itrsquos beca se yo learn a lot ndash in this case loads abo t project and stakeholder management

Does one day stand out as memorable Yes I went into a meeting with my line manager my director and the Food Simplifcation Director Wersquod collected a lot of data b t I wanted to make a proposal on how we made decisions with it and p t a proced re in place to move things on I was so nervo s B t I made the presentation and I got the go-ahead That was a really good day ndash I felt like I co ld make a difference to a project that will have a clear impact

Will that impact be sustainable It will red ce waste with more environmentally friendly materials and more energy effcient processes in time it might even effect the prod cts themselves Thatrsquos the exciting thing ndash at the moment nothing is disco nted

WHAT DOES THE RampD PROGRAMME INVOLVE

How is the culture day-to-day Theyrsquove been brilliant here Theyrsquove been really welcoming itrsquos a really friendly team We do a lsquohalf ho r in Germanrsquo so I can practice I think itrsquos really important to work on projects yo feel pro d of and Irsquove loved this it will be hard to move on

What else have you done My frst two roles were live innovation projects foc sing directly on specifc packaging which teaches yo completely different thinking and processes I looked at how to red ce resid al waste in empty shampoo bottles which was fascinating

Over at least three placements yoursquoll work with teams from different business areas

Designing new prod ct innovations and rolling these o t across the globe Looking at longer-term science and technology projects in one of o r Global RampD Centres Developing prod cts from concept idea to f ll-scale prod ction ndash with a heavy emphasis on feasibility and nderstanding cons mer needs An opport nity for one placement o tside of RampD to help yo nderstand the f ll scope of o r b siness

Irsquove been given the job of initiating a long-term project to harmonise packaging right across the savo ry range internationally ndash 170 brands ndash gathering data from many so rces and then working o t a way forward I love that what Irsquom doing is completely new and co ld inf ence materials design and even prod cts across many co ntries It will have a big s stainability impact I think itrsquos really important to work on projects yo feel pro d of and Irsquove loved this it will be hard to move on Itrsquos a really friendly team and moving to Germany has been a fantastic experience

How is the culture day-to-day Theyrsquove been brilliant here Theyrsquove been really welcoming itrsquos a really friendly team We do a lsquohalf ho r in Germanrsquo so I can practice I think itrsquos really important to work on projects yo feel pro d of and Irsquove loved this it will be hard to move on

What else have you done My frst two roles were live innovation projects foc sing directly on specifc packaging which teaches yo completely different thinking and processes I looked at how to red ce resid al waste in empty shampoo bottles which was fascinating

Over at least three placements yoursquoll work with teams from different business areas

Designing new prod ct innovations and rolling these o t across the globe Looking at longer-term science and technology projects in one of o r Global RampD Centres Developing prod cts from concept idea to f ll-scale prod ction ndash with a heavy emphasis on feasibility and nderstanding cons mer needs An opport nity for one placement o tside of RampD to help yo nderstand the f ll scope of o r b siness

I launched a project toharmonise packagingacross 170 brands PRIYANKA Research amp Development UFLP UK amp Ireland

Irsquove been given the job of initiating a long-term project to harmonise packaging right across the savo ry range internationally ndash 170 brands ndash gathering data from many so rces and then working o t a way forward I love that what Irsquom doing is completely new and co ld inf ence materials design and even prod cts across many co ntries It will have a big s stainability impact I think itrsquos really important to work on projects yo feel pro d of and Irsquove loved this it will be hard to move on Itrsquos a really friendly team and moving to Germany has been a fantastic experience
