BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL

29 Dec 1978 witnessed the solemn inauguration of Sainik

Primary School, Bikaner. A momentous event happened on 01

July 1991 when the school was designated as Army School,

Bikaner under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society

(AWES) and affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education

(CBSE). It became a secondary school in 1993-94 and was

further upgraded to plus 2 stage on April 01, 1994 with the

Science stream only. In 1997 commerce stream was added and

in April 2007 it became Army Public School, and shifted to the

new building constructed under MWP. Since 2013 Humanities

stream has been reintroduced in the school.

OUR AIM .

The School aims at giving quality

education at affordable cost that

prepares conscientious and

responsible citizens of tomorrow with

integrity, honesty, competence and

self - reliance. To achieve this the

School offers a program that aims

towards an increasing acceptance of

responsibilities by students.

The key focus areas in school are

always based on technology

accelerated learning, developing

communication skills teacher

empowerment and encouraging

students to join Army.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

APS, Bikaner remains dynamic,

vibrant and alive to its own needs,

standing by its aspiration, the school

has a sprawling complex of 14 acres in

the heart of Bikaner Military Station,

where the building stands tall

representing self-assured wisdom, self

reliance, confidence, and abundance.

The School has multipurpose hall, play

grounds & garden for the primary class

students. The school has a Herbal

garden, Science park, Psychomotor

obstacles, Keeping in view the extreme

weather conditions of the city ACS

have been installed in class-rooms in a

phased manner.

To facilitate teacher-parent

interaction visitor's room is there in

the school. To provide first-aid to

students in case of injury, the school

has a sick room. To be in sync with

digital India AWES has introduced

new portal (www.apsdigicamp.com) for

staff , students and parents for day to

day updates.

SALIENT FEATURES

1. A team of dedicated and

motivated teachers, most of whom have

been luminous students themselves.

2. Two well stocked libraries more

than 9000 Books, Reference Books, Periodicals, Journals, Newspapers etc

3. Well maintained and

fully equipped labs - Physics,

Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics,

Soc.sci. and English Language Lab, sick room and counselor cell.

4. TAEL has become need of the hour.

65 classrooms have been converted

into smart classrooms.

5 . Four computer Labs including 2 Thin Client labs are

functional. All the computers are on LAN.

6 . SUPW, Music and other activity rooms to exploit creativity and skills of

the students.

7 . The physical health of students is given attention by having regular

medical check-ups in the school once a

year. Infirmary is there to look after

students when they get sick.

8 . Conduct of various Inter house and

Inter School sports and cultural activities are there for encouraging an

all - round development of the child.

9 . The school encourages the Board

toppers, winners of co-curricular

activities and outstanding sports

achievers by giving them incentives and

cash prizes.

1 0 . Special attention is given to

students who are very bright to achieve

highest standards in academics.

Remedial classes are organized for the

weak students to overcome their weak

points and help them perform better.

1 1 . Career counseling is organized

regularly to guide the students to select

the right stream for further studies and

counselors are also invited from time to

time help students out to enable them

to cope with adolescence and stress

problems.

1 2 . Art of Healthy and

Productive Living is being

implemented at primary level.

1 3 . Children who show spark in

sports are encouraged further to

participate at district, state and

national level competitions.

caring for old people, special

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

The School lays great emphasis on Co-

curricular activities. They form an

integral part of the school curriculum

there is In order to inculcate the spirit of

nationalism and patriotism, Students of

class VII to IX are encouraged to join it.

The school has a 1/2 JD troop -

comprising of 34 boy cadets 16 girl

cadets. Many NCC cadets have

participated in Republic Day Parade in

New Delhi, over the years students are

sent on educational trips and excursion

to various places.

RULES OF ADMISSION AND

WITHDRAW

The lower age limit for admission

to class 1 is 5 years on 31 March

of the year of joining the school.

Admission will only be confirmed

on the basis of the Scores

obtained in the

Written entrance test except for

the children seeking admission

to class I or those who are

transferred from other APSs.

Every child seeking admission

will have to furnish mark sheet

& the transfer certificate duly

countersigned by the proper

educational authority. For

withdrawal from the school, a

notice has to be given at least

one week in advance. The

transfer certificate & Security

deposit will be given on

clearance of school dues. The

parents must give application for

school leaving certificate on a

prescribe from available in the

school.

1. For Class I there is no written

entrance test.

2. Minimum age for class I should be 5

years

3. For classes II to V entrance test is of

English, Hindi and Maths for 25 marks each based on pervious class

syllabus.

Provisional admission may be granted

to students appeared in class X Exams

in the beginning of the session.

Admission to the particular stream will

be confirmed only after the declaration

of board exam result by CBSE.

COURSES OF STUDIES

The School is affiliated to the CBSE,

New Delhi, it prepare students for all

India Secondary School Exam & the

Examination

(i) Class I – V Students learning will

be evaluated through 4 (Four) formal exams. There

will be 2 periodic tests, half

yearly and annual exam.

(ii) Class VI –IX & XI The following

exam policy is adopted in APS, Bikaner as per the CBSE

remodelled assessment system
