From humble beginnings as an apprentice at the Frearson & Howlett antique furniture restoration workshop, Max went on to open his own antiques shop

Initially based in Winchester his business grew steadily enabling a move to a large showroom in Alresford, a decade later.

English antiques he is known for combining the very best quality pieces with more extraordinary and unusual textiles, ceramics, pictures, and lighting. From this fertile creative ground, it was only natural that he progressed into creating beautiful spaces for others. His unique vision and instinct for colour, form and texture integrate the beautiful qualities of the antique in contemporary interiors that are composed yet comfortable. With a natural eye for the balanced proportion and

forms of classical design, and the rich colouration and patinations brought about by aging, Max incorporates both academic knowledge and a creative understanding of the aesthetics of time into the
