Miers25/14BrickTieChannel
Key Features• BS EN 845 Channel • CE Certified• Meets NHBC Requirements• Exceeds Type 3 Capacity• Grade 304 Stainless Steel
Technical DataMiers 25/14 Brick Tie Channel is designed for tying a masonry panel back to steel studding posts. The channel is fixed back to the studding using self-drilling/tapping screws fixed through the channel and insulation material, into the steel studding.
The channel is supplied with pre-punched holes at close centres to allow cutting on site and has a 16mm opening to accommodate a drive socket for the fixing screws. Supplied in lengths of 2.7m.
Once fixed, a range of differing tie lengths can be positioned at any point along the channel to suit the coursing of the masonry panel.
Tie SpacingThe tie spacing is based on the channel being fixed at 600mm horizontal centres with a nominal wind speed <25m/s within a town or city following the guidance of design code BS 6399-2:1997.
Miers 25/14 Brick Tie Channel Load CapacitiesMiers 25/14 Brick Tie Channel (supplied in lengths of 2.7m) is designed to fix to the studwork at 450mm vertical centres. The pre-punched holes in the rear of the channel are spaced at 112.5mm so a fixing can always be positioned near the end of the channel. Self-tapping screws can be supplied to accommodate for fixing through insulation board of up to 110mm.
Miers can supply either stainless steel or galvanised screws for fixing the channel back to the structure.
The opening in the channel will readily accept a standard drive socket and fixing.
The Alderdale 25/14 channel tie is for use with 25/14 stainless steel channel, it is supplied with a drip to stop moisture from travelling across the cavity.

VistaNeutrasWallTies(Masonry/Masonry)
Neutras ties are an adaptable substitute for traditional steel ties.
Wall ties crossing a cavity act as a thermal bridge, Neutras wall ties have both low thermal conductivity and high structural performance levels. This means they can be excluded from the current U value calculations in EN ISO 6946 and provide a credible solution to new legislation requirements.

AlderdaleBracketAngleSupportSystemToConcrete(BACSystems)
The Alderdale Bracket Angle System bolted to concrete is used to support the outer leaf of masonry up to 9.0m max height.
The system comprises of a continuous stainless steel horizontal channel cast into the edge of the concrete beam or slab (ref. 28/15 or 38/17 channel).
A light gauge stainless steel continuous angle is used to support the outer leaf of masonry. Stainless steel brackets are welded to the continuous angle at spacings to suit the design parameters and bolted to the cast in channel using Tee head bolts tightened to the recommended torque value (note: post fix insitu fixings can be used instead of cast in channel as specified by Alderdale Technical Department).
The Alderdale system is generally supplied to site in 1.5m lengths. But when producing the layouts, end pieces and corners may vary.
Excellent site tolerances are a feature of the system.

nWPB–BoxSectionWindposts
The Alderdale WPA profile angle section windpost is designed to be built into the inner skin of a cavity wall and connected to the structure at the base and head. A full technical advisory service for windposts is available if required.
nWPD–DoubleChannelSectionWindposts
The WPD profile windpost is a double channel post giving increased load capacities. A full technical advisory service for windposts is available if required.
The WPE profile “spine” post is generally used in internal blockwork partition walls where the post and connections can remain hidden within a wall thickness. The depth of the “spine” post is limited by the thickness of masonry but the thickness of the post can increase to increase the load capacities. The spine posts are generally tied at 225mm vertical centres to suit coursing.
The WPB profile windposts are box section posts supplied project specific and are usually used where loading requirements are larger and posts are required in inner wall or internal wall locations to fit within a specific wall thickness.

Key Features• Type 2 Capacity (PD 6697: 2010)• 150-450mm Cavities• Austenitic Stainless Steel (Grade 304)• CE Certified• Masonry - Masonry• CERAM Tested
Technical DataThe 2 Part Tie is a standard duty cavity wall tie designed to exceed the requirements of a Type 2 Tie up to a 450mm cavity as described in PD 6697: 2010 when installed in line with the following guidance. The tie is resistant to water crossing a cavity due to the unique connection feature.
This feature serves to prevent the transgression of water from the outer to the inner leaf of a building even when installed with an angle of up to 5° in an unfavourable direction. The minimum mortar joint thickness for which this tie is intended for use is 10mm.
Installation & Best PracticeCavity walls constructed with a large clear cavity can often be problematic when the inner and outer leaves are built independently. Issues with overturning of blocks due to the weight of the tie and maintenance of a horizontal level may arise.
It is also advisable to avoid using long protruding ties when building the outer leaf separately to the inner as they may cause injury and are susceptible to damage.
The two-part tie allows a separate inner section to be built into the block or internal leaf, leaving a short slotted connection exposed for the connection of the outer sections, which are installed during the construction of the outer leaf. The standard inner section is supplied in a standard lengths of 220mm and 240mm. The two-part tie requires an embedment of 62.5mm (recommended 75mm) into the bed joint in both leaves. The outer sections are available in a range of lengths to suit cavities from 150 - 450mm.
Tie Density & SpacingWall ties should typically be installed at a density of at least 2.5 ties/m2 for walls in which both leaves are thicker than 90mm. We recommend spacing the ties at 900mm horizontal centres and 450mm vertical centres staggered at alternate courses up to a 300mm cavity and 600 x 450mm at larger cavities to maintain a Type 2 load capacities at the larger cavities.
Wall ties should be evenly distributed over a wall except around openings or at an un-bonded panel edge where the tie density should be increased to 225mm vertical centres within 225mm of the opening or edge.
Best PracticeCare should be taken when cleaning mortar drops and debris from the ties after installation. DO NOT strike the ties from the side to avoid opening the jointed connection. Test data has proved the ties have a good resistance to low-level lateral impact but recommend that it be avoided where possible to maintain the ties structural integrity.

Key Features• Multi Purpose Frame Cramp • De-Bondable• Austenitic Stainless Steel (Grade 304)• CE Certified• Structure - Masonry• 0 - 187.5mm Cavity• CERAM Tested
Technical DataThe FS2 Frame Cramp Ties are a multi purpose frame cramp designed in accordance with the requirements of BS EN 845-1. The tie is designed to allow a masonry panel to be tied back to a range of structures/substrates meaning one tie can fulfil a range of applications on site. The advanced punched and pressed profile
of the tie means that it is capable of withstanding high loads as a result of its increased sectional properties. A standard de-bonding sleeve can be supplied for use at movement joints. The minimum mortar joint thickness for which this tie is intended for use is 10mm. Slot size is 7mm x 20mm. Upstand is 40mm.
Installation & Best PracticeWall ties should typically be installed at a density of at least 2.5 ties/m2 for walls in which both leaves are thicker than 90mm. This can be achieved by spacing the ties at 900mm horizontal centres and 450mm vertical centres, staggered at alternate courses.
Wall ties should be evenly distributed over a wall except around openings or at an un-bonded panel edge where the tie density should be increased to 225mm vertical centres within 225mm of the opening or edge. The length of the tie should be sufficient to allow an embedment of at least 62.5mm meaning that the minimum embedment of 50mm is always achieved after allowing for site tolerances.
Tests performed by LUCIDEON Limited proved that the FS2 tie meets the requirements of BS EN 846 - 5: 2012 & BS EN 846 - 6: 2012 tested under compression and tension. FS2 tie is an asymetrical wall tie as defined in BS EN 845 - 1: 2012

AlderdaleHeadRestraintsHR1(VHR)–InternalHeadRestraint
AlderdaleHeadRestraintsHR2–HeadRestraint
Key Features• Shear/Movement Tie (PD 6697: 2010)• Austenitic Stainless Steel (Grade 304)• CE Certified• CERAM Tested• Allows Vertical Movement• Provides Lateral Restraint
Key Features• For 100mm, 140mm and 215mm Block• Austenitic Stainless Steel (Grade 304)• Structure - Block
Technical DataThe HR1 is designed to provide lateral restraint at the top of an internal block wall or the inner leaf of a cavity wall. The ‘outer’ section of the HR1 is manufactured from a rectangular hollow tube to create and maintain a void in the vertical mortar joint. This allows free movement of the ‘inner section’. A movement joint of 25mm (Max) between the soffit / bottom of steel and the top of the inner section will be sufficient to allow the normal movement expected in service as a result of live loading, thermal expansion and contraction and any shrinkage that may occur following construction.
Technical DataThe HR2 is an adjustable restraint designed to provide lateral restraint to the head of an internal wall or the internal leaf of a cavity wall.
The Soffit Restraint is suitable for restraining blocks ranging from 100 - 140mm and also 215mm thick as standard, restraints to suit alternative block sizes can be manufactured on request. A maximum offset of 25mm from the head of the wall to be restrained to the underside of the structure must be achieved. A standard Soffit Restraint is designed to be used with an M8 fixing, fixed through the 10mm diameter hole / slot in the restraint, this fixing would not be supplied as standard but is available on request.
The restraint is available in austenitic stainless steel grades 304 (BS EN 1.4301) and 316 (BS EN 1.4401) providing a declared load capacity of 1KN.
Installation & Best PracticeThe horizontal leg of the outer section must be built into the bed joint with the centre line of the unit no closer than 50mm from the edge of the block. The vertical section should be built into the perpendicular joints ensuring that mortar fills the remaining voids on either side. The inner sliding section can be manufactured complete with a hole or slot to suit an M8 fixing. The standard system is designed to suit a block of 215mm in height and resist a load of 1.0kN in a 7N block per unit; however, alternative systems can be manufactured to suit specific requirements. HR1’s should be installed at 450, 675 or 900mm centres
depending on the load requirements and edge reactions of the specific panel.
