Steeped in culture and heritage, the Town of Breckenridge provides

a unique mix of creative opportunities for people of all ages and

interests. Through visual and performing arts, cultural heritage,

craft education, culinary and healing arts, design, film and literature,

the community offers a scenic mountain environment with diverse

opportunities for individual self-expression.

At the core of the Breckenridge creative community are a number

of long-standing organizations, including: Breckenridge Backstage

Theatre, Breckenridge Film Festival, Breckenridge Heritage

Alliance, Breckenridge Music Festival, Breckenridge Tourism Office

and National Repertory Orchestra. Together with Breckenridge

Creative Arts and other community partners, these nonprofit

organizations paint a vibrant cultural scene in Breckenridge.

We invite you to explore all of the town’s cultural offerings this

The Breckenridge Arts District is the region’s newest epicenter of creativity, bringing together studios, galleries, performance spaces, historic landmarks, public art, restaurants, cafés and other creative businesses that animate and populate a vibrant cultural corridor in downtown Breckenridge.

Cultural venues and event spaces within the district include the Riverwalk Center, Blue River Plaza, Old Masonic Hall, Breckenridge Theater, Speakeasy Movie Theater and studios on the Arts District campus. In addition, a number of museums and heritage sites are located within this same area, including the Barney Ford Victorian Home and the Edwin Carter Discovery Center.

The Breckenridge Film Festival, founded in 1981, is one of the oldest film festivals

in the country, celebrating on an annual basis each third weekend of September.

More than 50 films, educational outreach programs, children’s films, celebrity

guests, educational forums and workshops for all ages and other events celebrating

the art of film, contribute to the festival’s diverse program.

and protect Breckenridge’s unique heritage. Through a collection of sites and

The Breckenridge Music Festival (BMF) provides premier musical and arts-related

programming through year-round performances, including a five-week summer

festival of chamber music, orchestral masterworks and pops, as well as national

touring acts that span genres such as blues, bluegrass, folk, reggae and country

music. This year’s summer festival features an array of music from classic

Viennese masterworks to today’s greatest jazz artists, and exciting new

additions to the programming with musical cross-overs, multi-media elements,

theatrical collaborations and more.

The Breckenridge Tourism Office (BTO) is the official destination marketing

organization for the Town of Breckenridge. From Breck Bike Week and Fourth

July 29, under the artistic direction of Maestro Carl Topilow. Through an intensive

and unique fellowship program, the National Repertory Orchestra changes
