• 80% of children that are abused are under the age of 4
• 30 % of abused children later become abusive parents
• Neglect is most common type of abuse
• Through parent- child interaction therapy abuse can be stopped or greatly reduced
• Reoccurrence of child abuse can be stopped through proper intervention & education
