Lab Finding: Pressure provided liquid to flow out of the crater

1st Finding: The build up of stress eventually causes rock to break along fault lines

2nd Finding: Extreme temperature changes causes fracturing. 3rd Finding: Asteroids or comets can fracture a location’s surface.

Lab Finding: The shifting of the earth causes the landform to crack. The craters filled in!

Key elements from Wind Erosion Reading:

1st Finding:Wind is a gas in motion

2nd Finding: Wind can only exist with planets that have atmosphere.

3rd Finding: Mars, Earth, and Venus have wind.

Lab Finding : The lightest materials/ flour and coco blew away easily. The heavier particle (sand) slightly moved

2nd Finding: Complex stream systems can resemble the body’s nervous system! 3rd Finding: Vall Mariner is as wide as the USA.

Lab Finding : Water took its natural course downward through the sand. Gravity took the water down its path. Erosion was greatest at the river’s source !

1st Finding: Planets w/o atmosphere can not have wind erosion. Because there is no wind.

2nd Finding: Boulder fields on Mars resemble deserts on earth because of wind erosion. 3rd Finding: Wind is a gas!

Lab Finding : Wind is very powerful and can change the way our earth looks. The heaviest material takes longer to erode. The lightest materials erode quickly!

Water Erosion Period 4

Key elements from Water Erosion Reading:

1st Finding: Water usually flows from high to low land. Gravity 101

2nd Finding: Flowing water cuts canyons into the highlands. EX: Grand Canyon. 3rd Finding: Large boulders can be eroded with running water! Lab Finding : The water made a channel. Most of the erosion took place at the source of the river. The eroded material was transported to the river’s mouth.

Lab Finding : The erosion was greatest near the source. The sediment moved towards the mouth!
