Welcome to tête-à-tête 2018 CSAE Ottawa-Gatineau’s premier event for association professionals. The theme of our event this year, Break Convention – Venture Out, highlights both the exciting move of our Tête-à-Tête to the EY Centre and reflects the mindset that association professionals need to have in order to be successful in today’s complex and fast-changing world. Our keynote presenters today have no doubt broken convention and ventured out of their comfort zones a time or two to reach success. Productivity and Performance Expert Chris Bailey and The Debaters: Erica Sigurdson and Dave Hemstad with Steve Patterson will entertain us, challenge our thinking, and leave us with ideas that will motivate us to go outside our own comfort zones and towards greater success for ourselves and our organizations. Thank you to Ottawa Tourism and the Shaw Centre for sponsoring Chris Bailey and to Speakers’ Spotlight for sponsoring The Debaters: Erica Sigurdson and Dave Hemstad with Steve Patterson. As we ventured out to the EY Centre, we took the opportunity to expand our event, to include an exhibitor and delegate networking lounge, an “Ask the Expert” kiosk, and simultaneous interpretation during the breakfast and luncheon. With more than 165 sponsors and exhibitors as part of our trade show in the morning and afternoon, our event is as big as ever. The exhibiting partners will provide associations with the goods and services they need to be successful and provide value to their members. The opportunity to meet so many of them in one place, i.e. ‘Tête-à-Tête’, is what makes this event so unique and a must-do on our busy calendars. Special thanks to our volunteer members of the Special Events Committee, led by Heather Cleat and Riccarda Galioto, AMCES, our sponsors, and our long-standing partners for their generous support in making Tête-à-Tête the famous trade show it is, year after year. I welcome you to this new location for Tête-à-Tête, and I believe after you have experienced what I know will be a phenomenal day, you will leave Tête-à-Tête pumped up to be more productive, ready to challenge the status quo, and armed with new connections to help you make things happen. Enjoy your day!Adele Fifield Chair CSAE Ottawa-Gatineau

chRis BAileyA fRESH nEW APPROACH TO PRODUCTiViTy. “PRODUCTiViTy iSn’T ABOUT HOW BUSy yOU ARE, iT’S ABOUT HOW mUCH yOU ACCOmPliSH”.Drawing from over a decade’s worth of research, as well as Chris Bailey’s yearlong deep dive experiment into the world of productivity, this counter-intuitive and wildly entertaining
talk will transform how you think about productivity. Productivity doesn’t have to be boring - and it’s possible to get more done every day without hating the process. In addition to showing how productivity is about managing your time as well as your attention and energy, this talk will give you several practical, tactical ways to get more done every day at work and at home, so you’ll walk away with some solid productivity techniques in your back pocket.
