    It is normal for the Viewing Window to collect moistur.edllringthe beginning of the Baking cycle. As your breadbakes; the moisture soon will evaporate so you can watch yourbread's baking progress. Don't open the Lid during baking, This causes the bread tobake improperly .. Don'tunplug the Breadman duringKn~ading or Baking.This will stop the operation.NarEThis appliance has a-polarized plug (one blade iswider than theother); Asa.safetyfeature, this plug.will fit in a polarized outlet onlyone way.If the plug does not fitfully in the outlet, reverse the plug.If it still does not fit,.contact a qualified electrician.Do not attempt to defeat.the safety feature. to protect young children, keep the Breadmanout O f theirreach when you're not there to supervise - especially duringthe Kneading andJ3aking cycles. . These canscratch the non-stick.surface of the Bread Pan. . . Avoid electric shock by unplugging before using a damp clothor sponge to wipe the interior of the Oven. Never use the Bread Pan on a gas or electric cooktop or on anopen flame. Avoid covering the Steam Vent during Kneading andBaking cycles. This could cause the Breadman to warpor discolor.

    Press Start to begin the KneadingandJorBaking cycle.First, the Breadman 'mixes-theingredients.* Then, it begins the Kneadingprocess. During this process, the yeastbegins to activate, and normally theViewing Window begins to fog. (This willclear so you can see the progress of yourloaf.) The Breadman will stopkneadingafter a few minutes to let the dough risebefore baking.Before the end of the Kneading process,for Basic, Whole Wheat and French cycies,the Breadman beeps several times to letyou know this is the time to add any fruitand nuts.If you chose Dough, the Breadman beepsto let you know when the dough is ready tobe removed ..Then it's up.to you to shapeit, give it time for a final rising period, andbakeitin a conventional oven.For other cycles, Breadman continues tothe Baking process.Twenty minutes prior to the end of theentire cycle, the unit will beep.*Whole Wheat/French cycles will have arest period for up to 30 minutes beforekneading begins. No movement occurs 12in the pan. This is normal.

    When your bread is done, the Breadmanwil l beep. This indicates that the bakingphase is completed. Press the Stop button,then put on your oven mitts and removethe Bread Pan. .Remember that th~ BreadPan and yourloaf are both very hot! Be carefulnor toplace either on a tablecloth, plastic surface,or other surface that might scorch or melt.*For the Basic, Whole Wheat, FrenchandFruit &.Nut cycles:.. ..If the bread is not removed immediatelyafter baking and if the Stop button is notpressed, a controlled Holding KeepWarmcycle will begin and the machine. willautomatically shut off after 3 hours.     The Bread Pan and Kneading Paddle have non-stick surf~ces thatmake. cleaning easy.LAfterbald.ng each loaf ofbreadtunplugthe Breadman anddiscard any crumbs.2 .     3. Wipethe inside of the LicianclOvenwith a damp clbth orsponge. Ifany residue has scorchedon the heating plate orelsewhere, wipe with a non-abrasive scrubbing pad andwipe clean.     Do not soak the Pan for a long period oftime - this couldinterfere with thefree working of the Drive Shaft. .I : 3 e sure the Breadman.is completely cooled before storing.The inner casing contains the heating element and drive base.Therefore, when cleaning, NEVER pour water, solvents orcleaning solutions into this area.

Make sure yeast doesn't get wet until theBreadman mixes the ingredients together.

    During the Kneading process, add 1 tablespoon of flour at a time,letting it mix Iriwell. For most breads, your dough ball shouldbecome round, smooth, not sticky to the touch, and shouldbounce back when you press it with your finger.The dough ball islumpy or too dry During the Kneading process, add ltablespoon of water at atime, letting it mix in well.The bread didn'trise at all Make sure yeast is not left out. Also check the date code on theyeast and that it is always the last ingredient put into the pan.Make sure the yeast doesn't come into contact with any liquidingredients.The bread iscaved in Make sure liquids are measured correctly. Next time, reduce yourliquids by 2 tablespoons. Ifyou're adding fruits or vegetables,make sure they are well drained.
