Ø Regulations consider 5 aspects of fire safety in the construction of buildings:-

Of these, the following relate to smart infrastructure….

Ø Internal linings should not support rapid spread of fire.

Ø That the spread of fire between buildings be discouraged by spacing sufficiently and controlling the number and size of openings on boundaries;

Ø Provision must be made for fire proofing when ceilings are cut for installation of speakers and low voltage lights.

Ø Currently does not state clear performance criteria

Ø The walls of dwellings should have reasonable resistance to airbourne sound.

Ø Floors & stairs in flats should have reasonable resistance to passage of airbourne sound.

Ø Floors of flats should have reasonable resistance to impact of sound from above.

Ø Target is to achieve a mean performance value of 52dB with no examples below 49dB for seperatingwalls.
