Let us share with you some ministry highlights:

River of Life Leadership Summit

BROLM promoted the First River of Life Leadership Summit at Pirituba on Dec 28.Leaders came from churches in Fortaleza, CE; Valpariso, GO; Santos Dumont, DF;and all member churches in São Paulo. On Friday Dec27, the leaders who hadarrived visited the Campo Limpo Paulista Church.

The summit started the next morning at 10 a.m. where brother Pedro (Fortaleza)spoke about Starting and Maintaining Small Groups. After lunch Monica and I spokeon Leading with Conflict in a Biblical Way. At 4 p.m. we had a great service, withworship and Communion, and I preached on Spiritual Growth the theme for 2014based on 1 Peter 3:18. The Summit was a blessing and our leaders are asking aboutour next encounter.

On Sunday morning, Dec 29, all the leaders went to the Jundiai Church service. Rightafter the service, we all went to the Bom Retiro Church and had lunch, followed by anafternoon service. In the evening, Brother Edgard from Valparaiso went with his familyto Campo Limpo Paulista Church where he preached. Brother Luiz, from SantosDuomont Church, went with his family to Sao Mateus Church where he preached. AndBrother Pedro, from the Fortaleza Church, went with his wife to Pirituba Church wherehe preached. On Monday everyone went back to their homes. It was a very busy, but

On Dec 29, Guilherme and Victor were baptized. They are members at the JundiaiChurch, however, they used the baptistery at the Campo Limpo Pulaista Churchduring their evening service.

On Jan 1, all BROLM churches started the 12 Days of Purpose seminar. We havebeen doing this on the first 12 days of the year since 2006. During these 12 days weintroduce and teach on the year’s theme. These are also days of great fellowship andblessing!

Sao Mateus Church

On Jan 5, Monica and I visited Sunday School at Sao Mateus Church.

25th Wedding Anniversary

On Jan 7, Monica and I celebrated our anniversary! We are so grateful that Godbrought us through all the storms of life together and kept us faithful to each other.God is good!

On Jan 25, the Campo Limpo Paulista Church celebrated their 9th anniversary. Weare so grateful for all that the Lord has done, is doing, and will continue to do throughthis church.

Pualista Church, was going home from a small group home meeting with his wife Anaand their 15 year old daughter Heloisa, two men in another car approach their vehiclewith guns drawn. Brother Jose stopped and the two men robed his family. Theyassaulted Jose and wanted to kidnap his daughter and take his car. Immediately thefamily started to pray. When the men saw that Jose had $300 in his wallet (money hewas going to use to pay the mechanic for car repairs), they just took the money andfled the scene. We are thankful that the Simonette family is alive and that the thievesdid not take Heloisa or the car. However, this was a terrible experience and they willneed emotional healing. Please pray for the Simonette family!

20/50 Campaign

To reach BRoLM’S budget for 2014, we still need 17 new or currentindividuals/churches to start/increase their support with $50 a month. Please prayand consider participating in this challenge. Help us reach this goal! Thanks!

“Hands On” Bible CollegeClasses resume this month in Brazil. We do not have classes in December andJanuary because they are summer months in Brazil.

I am planning to leave Brazil for Mozambique on Aug 5, from Mozambique to Angolaon Aug 12, from Angola to Guine Bissau on Aug 19, and back to Brazil on Aug 26. Iwill be teaching at the “Hands ON” Bible Colleges in these locations. Please pray forthese plans!The 2014 “Hands On” Bible College budget is for the purpose of reaching 4Portuguese-Speaking countries: Angola, Brazil, Guina Bissau and Mozambique. Thetotal is $13,860. Praise the Lord we have already received $11,050, but we still need$2,810 more to reach this goal. Please consider a onetime gift for this importantministry! Thanks!

A tribute to Lloyd David Sanders:

Pioneer missionary Lloyd David Sanders passed away December 2 in Brasília, Brazil,at the age of 95. David Sanders was God’s instrument for my family (Jeff’s) to go toBrazil. He arrived in Brazil in 1948 and our family in 1965. For us MKs (Missionary

Kids) the other missionaries were our uncles and aunts, since we did not have anyrelatives on the mission field. Thus, David Sanders for us was more than just amissionary he was a friend that always had time for us. Every time I went to Brasiliato speak he and Aunt Ruth would take me out to eat, and he would always tell me thestory of how my Grandpa, Earl Fife, was used by God through his evangelisticpreaching at Johnson University to reaffirm his calling to the ministry when he wasthinking about giving up. Another special moment he always remembered was whenhe was so homesick that he was contemplating leaving Johnson. Uncle Bob Fifeprayed with him, and that was the moment when he had the vision to go to Brazil andwork at the new capital Brasilia, that was not even build at that time. Uncle David wasa blessing to my life, to my family and to Brazil. May the Lord comfort the hearts ofthe thousands that were touch by his love to Christ and His Kingdom!

Here are some highlights from November 2013

Jundiai Church:

After a year of raising funds, the Jundiai Church was able to install a tile celling attheir meeting location. Now the meeting hall is a lot more welcoming.

Pirituba Church:

Our first church plant celebrated their 21st Anniversary! It is always interesting to seeall that the Lord has done through this church during all these years. HappyAnniversary Pirituba Church!

Campo Limpo Paulista Church:

Started a Bible Study group in November for their elders’ and deacons’ wives. Theybelieve this will help them work together to support their husbands with their ministry. May the Lord give them wisdom and bless them!

Promoted their first Youth Conference with the purpose of reaching more youth forChrist! It is a great blessing to see so many youth worshiping the Lord!

Valparaiso Church:

Received the donation of a lot beside the church. This is a great blessing for thisgrowing church. What a blessing! Brother Edgar is doing a great job in leading thischurch!

Mozambique:

Last month we asked you to pray for the elections in Mozambique, and by God’sgrace everything went well with minor incidents. Kleber and Juracema are in Brazil;they went to Brazil for the first National Missionary Conference of the ChristianChurch/Churches of Christ in Brasilia and will be staying in Brazil untilFebruary/March. Please, pray for the work in Mozambique!

Jeff & Monica to Brazil

Monica and I will be leaving for Brazil on Dec 26. We will have our First River of LifeLeadership Summit at Pirituba on Dec 28. Summit leaders will come from churches inFortaleza, CE; Valpariso, GO; Santos Dumont, DF; and, the churches in Sao Paulo.During our time in Brazil we will visit all churches and meet with all the leaders in SaoPaulo. We will also be participating of the 12 Day of Purpose seminar on the first 12days in Jan, 2014. I am preparing the material for the Leadership Summit and the 12Days of Purpose. We will come back on Jan 13 for our final semester of school. Ifeverything goes as planned, I will graduate on April 25 and Monica on May 9. I amstill taking classes and working on my theses. Please, pray for us!

As the psalmist declared, we also declare that the Lord is our strength and shield, wetrust Him with all of our heart, He has helped us, and thus, our hearts are filled withjoy. We could not react in any other way, but to burst out in songs of thanksgiving forall the Lord has done, is doing and will do through us for His honor and glory. Here are some highlights from October 2013

Children’s Day:

Brazil has a national day for almost everything; however, one of the most celebratedis Children’s Day on Oct 12. Thus, every year we take the opportunity to makeChildren’s Outreaches in Oct.

Campo Limpo Paulista, Jundiai and Varzea PaulistaChurchs:

Since these three churches are located approximately 30 minutes’ drive from eachother, and even though they are in three different cities, they got together at Jundiaiand did a big children’s outreach on Oct. 12. They rented playground equipment andprovided transportation for the children! It was a blast!

Pirituba Church:

This was a big event for the Pirituba Church, since the church is being restored andhas not done any children's outreach for years. It was a great blessing to see themembers work as a team! The event was a blessing!

Did a sleep over event at the church, the children arrived on Oct 11 and stayed at thechurch the whole day on Oct 12, they had a lot of fun!

Mozambique:

Please, pray for Mozambique. When Mozambique became free from Portugal’scolonization in 1974, the north and south had a civil war until 1992 to see who wasgoing to be in power. After a lot of negations the south took power and the northleader received aid from the new government. However, every time there is anelection the opposition from the north tries to restart the civil war. This year they weremore aggressive than in the past elections; they have burned cars, trucks, trains,houses, etc. in the central states of the country. Towards Election Day, Nov 20, theopposition started to make attacks in the north close to Nampula were the HopeMission is located. During the civil war Nampula was the headquarters for theopposition. Election Day went well with some manifestations and lots of military on thestreets; however, the election in Nampula was cancelled and they will be voting againon Dec 1. Please, pray for peace!

Now some good news from Mozambique; on Oct 20, five brothers were ordained intothe pastoral ministry and three to the evangelistic ministry. Each one of these pastorsnot only pastors a local church, but they oversee several evangelists that are plantingchurches. Currently there are 78 churches planted by the Hope Mission in theNortheast of Mozambique.

20/50 Campaign:

Last month we started this financial campaign so we can reach the support neededfor BRoLM’s ministry goals in 2014. We did receive some one-time gifts last month;that was a great help. One of our supporting churches increased their support for2014 to $500 per year ($41.67 per month), what a blessing! Also, a couple acceptedthe challenge and will support BRoLM with $100 per month. Thus, for the 20/50campaign we only need 17 new supporters or the individuals/churches that alreadysupports to add just $50 more each month to their contribution. We can do this withyour help; please, pray and consider this challenge!

“Hands On” Bible College:

Last year at this time we were trying to raise funds to keep the “Hands On” BibleCollege running in Brazil and to launch the “Hands On” Bible College in Mozambique. We were blessed through your prayers and contributions and this goal becamereality. In 2014 we have a greater challenge; we have received a request frombrother Cirilo Bamba, leader of the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ in Angola tocome and launch the “Hands On” Bible College in Angola. We have received arequest from Luciano Rodrigues, Brazilian missionary supported by Hisportic ChristianMission, for us to come and help him launch the “Hands On” Bible College in GuineBissau. And we have to continue with the “Hands On” Bible College in Brazil andMozambique.

The budget for the “Hands On” Bible College for 2014, for us to reach 4 Portuguese-Speaking countries, is $13,860. We have received $8,000 for this purpose, praise theLord, but we still need $5,860 to reach this goal. Please, consider a onetime gift forthis purpose! Thanks!
