Information about Italy
•Population: 61.3 million
•Name: Repubblica Italiana (Italian Republic), Nickname: 'Bel Paese' which means beautiful country
•Capital: Roma (Rome), which is often called 'Eternal City‘ and is Italy’s biggest city
Information about Italy• Religion: mainly Christians (Roman Catholics 90%)
• Currency: 1 Euro=100 cents, before 2001 Italian Lira
• Flag: The colors represent these virtues: hope (green), faith (white), and charity (red).
• Government: Democracy, Republic
• Language: Italian as well as German, French and Ladin in some regions in Northern Italy
My Research Process1. I started out by googling different countries to see where I wanted to
travel. I knew I would be going based on the couple budget rate of $10,000. I narrowed down my choices to Australia, Italy, and Brazil. Australia plane tickets were extremely expensive and not to mention long! I would spend 3-4 days just on traveling. Brazil did not have many attractions that jumped at me and I have always wanted to visit Rome so I figured Italy was perfect.
2. Next step was going to www.kayak.com
3. I selected the deals tab at the top of Kayak. Why waste time on different websites choosing flights, hotels, and destinations when the site would plan it for me? This is great especially for an inexperienced traveler.
My Research Process
4. The second choice listed was perfect. It had me visiting six different cities in 14 nights!
5. Basic price for 1 person is $2257 so I knew I would have plenty of money left over for touring, eating, and exploring the cities.
6. When selecting this hyperlink I was taken to another website called www.europeandestinations.com to complete my travel information.
My Research Process
The last step to “organizing” this vacation was adjusting any hotels or flight information that I did not like. I changed
several hotels (even with a price increase) for a more suitable location close to historical sites and attractions. In the next
few slides I will go into detail of what the trip will entail.
