Theme for this next year is "...by FAITH..." This month we celebrate our annual MONTH of LOVE & COMPASSION! We will be focusing on how we can live "by faith" as we LOVE, CARE, SERVE AND GIVE in every way. Scripture is full of encouragement and commands to love, care, serve and give. Our word this week is LOVE! And what we discover is that "all we need IS love." For if we have LOVE we have everything we truly need. Now I know there are naysayers about. LOVE doesn't put food on the table. LOVE doesn't put a roof over our heads, LOVE doesn't..... fill in the blanks yourselves. But I disagree. To truly be full in every way, we must be loved. Our hearts, our spirits, our very souls ache to be loved and to love. LOVE is what makes the world complete. People who live without love and eat a great meal are still hungry. Those who know they are loved even though they haven't eat find comfort and fullness in that love. This month we will celebrate the WEEK OF COMPASSION - because we love. This annual special offering by our congregation is the relief, refugee, and development mission fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Week of Compassion works with partners to alleviate suffering throughout the world. These funds and services respond to the survivors of earthquake and famine, tornados and floods, war and genocide. This is the most powerful offering in our denomination having already responded to emergencies in Alaska (fires) Australia (fires) the Philippines (earthquake) and Puerto Rico. (earthquake) Make sure you are a part of the WHOLE month of LOVE AND COMPASSION! It's going to be a great time! See you Sunday!

School Aged Children’s Ministry Update

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone! We have finished our first month of 2020 and it has been great so far. Parent teacher conferences went very well, and we all had so much fun learning about our solar system. I hope you enjoyed the children's comets and moons displayed in the entrance hall. This month we come down to earth with the dinosaurs! Another favorite of mine! We will learn the difference between the carnivores and the herbivores and how the dinosaurs became extinct. The children will each be designing their one of a kind dinosaur for our dinosaur land in the classroom. February 13 we will have our Valentine's Day teddy bear picnic party with pizza and games. We have had a run of the sniffles last month so we would appreciate your prayers for a healthy class month. Have a great February and Happy Valentine’s Day to you all! Mrs. Agoff
