Innovation is something we do that is new
or different from past ways and which adds
value for all those who may benefit from it.
Creation and capture of new value in new
ways (and to improve peoples’ life), no
matter the perspective, is the main
difference between innovation and
invention.
An innovation is an invention that found a (place in the) market.
What is innovation?
How to sustain innovation?
Culture: Encourage an innovation culture Promote commitment with the organization and deep, strategic
understanding of what innovation is and how it can be achieved in
everything we do.

methodologies and tools on their daily activities, while helping the
technical and management teams understanding it.

interfaces, both internal and external.
External interfacesCreate and manage collaboration opportunities with external
institutions, namely Universities and R&D labs.

MEO automatic recordingsThe concept of nPVR (network-based Personal Video Recorder) was always present
in the working lines of Interactive Television, addressed in exploratory innovation
projects, demos and prototypes that explore the incorporation of technology for the
provision and development of the powerful and sophisticated content Automatic
Recording features present in MEO, essential ingredient of the new ways to watch TV.
Our innovation activities are guided and monitored by an ecosystem model that
acts as an innovation orchestrator driving a chain of interactions between our core
competencies and all the agents in our economic environment.
Innovation lifecycle, the core of our ecosystem model, is a five stages iterative
process that includes the launch of a new or improved product, service, process or
business model, its introduction in the market as well as the monitoring of its
evolution and the Customer feedback.
