The annual golf tournament is the lodge’s major charitable event with 100% of the proceeds funding most of our local charitable works. I thought the membership would be interested in knowing where some of the money went: with money from our 2012 golf tournament we sent 9 children to summer camp; we sponsor both boy and girl scout troops; we sponsor a local soccer team and little league baseball team; we bought a glass case and mannequin for The Veteran's Learning Center; we supplied and delivered Easter baskets (in costume) to our local youth; we sponsor Seabreeze High School Culinary Academy (we are their largest sponsor), and we purchased and delivered hundreds of dictionaries to 3rd and 5th graders at 8 local elementary schools. This is just a portion of where the money goes. Teri Eckenrode and Mike Deeter work long and hard on this event…so from the bottom of our hearts… thank you both and all who participated and donated their time to make this a successful event. Without the support, of you, our members, we could not carry on with our charitable work. This month, I name John Andrews, PER as Elk of the Month.
