(applied to cost of tuition and student fees)

    Disbursement: Multiple

The Bissett Bursary program is open to first-year Bow Valley College students who are interested in pursuing career training programs that will set them on a track to enter the workforce after graduation. Recipients will be selected based on demonstrated financial need, potential for academic success and career planning. The program is open to students entering their first year at Bow Valley College directly from high school (defined as entering within 28 months of graduating from high school, or of completing high school to a level sufficient to enter a career program at Bow Valley College). First consideration is given to students from All in for Youth program high schools in Calgary; if for some reason there are not sufficient qualified applicants from those schools, then secondary consideration may be extended to students from any Calgary high school, provided those students meet the other criteria.

Funding may be renewed for each semester of a certificate program (two terms total) or a diploma program (four semesters total), to a maximum of $10,000 total, subject to successful academic progress and a reference from an instructor or program coordinator as to the student’s diligence in applying themselves to their studies.

To apply for Bow Valley College Entrance Awards, students must first apply for admission to Bow Valley College, be accepted into a program, pay the confirmation deposit, and be registered as a full-time student. Students are encouraged to apply for admission to the College well before the awards application deadline.
