EXPERIENCE & INVESTMENT GUIDE

REST – Get plenty of beauty sleep the night before to prevent tired eyes.

HYDRATE – Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session. Hydration will give you a dewy glow, and even help with actually shedding water weight if you’re retaining any!

PROTECT – During the days leading up to your session, lightly exfoliate and moisturize daily - including body, face, and lips. Don’t get sunburn in the weeks before your session – sunburn or tan lines will distract from your gorgeous complexion.

SAY NO TO FAUX – Tans that is! Faux tans, spray or lotion, can leave your skin looking streaked, uneven, discolored and can permanently damage your garments or studio property. Instead, focus on finding lingerie in colors that flatter your current skin tone and leave it to your photographer to use lighting that will flatter your complexion.

GROOM – If you wax, do so at least 5 days before your session to avoid any red bumps or irritation. If you plan on getting your hair cut or dyed, I suggest doing so at least a week ahead, in case you need to have anything “fixed”.

MANI/PEDI – Treat yourself to a mani & pedi, or do them for yourself. Pick a color that goes with your personality, or keep it simple and go with a more natural look.

CLEAN & DRY – Arrive to your session with clean and dry hair and your face moisturized and free of any makeup. Ideally you would avoid wearing any makeup for at least 24 hours prior to your session. If you want your hair smooth before it is styled, please blow dry it straight and smooth before you arrive. We provide simple hair styling – usually loose waves or curls. If you would like to add extensions, please arrive with them in place. We can style extensions as long as they can be exposed to heat without suffering

any damage.

ARRIVAL – The day of your shoot, wear loose fitting clothing and undergarments so as to avoid any red marks or imprints. Ideally, a maxi dress with loose undergarments would be perfect! Please arrive to your session on time and let me know when you arrive so that the makeup artist and I have the space prepared for you.

GROOMING TIPS FOR PREPARING FOR YOUR SESSION

THE BASICSFor your outfits, I always suggest some variations of these combinations: a one piece (such as a teddy or slip dress), a two-piece set (bra/panty, high waisted skirt/bra, sweater/panties), a shawl/cover-up (scarves and cardigans work great as well), something that you love, and a sexy black dress. That “something you love” could simply be something reflective of your fashionista personality (did someone say sequins!?) or perhaps it’s a jersey of your husband’s favorite sports team or his work shirt. Bring pieces that are reflective of your style. Also be sure to bring some neutral panties, for some of your more risqué shots so that you remain comfortable!

DRESS TO FLATTERWhen selecting your pieces, think about which features about yourself that you want to flatter (aka bring attention to), and which you want to minimize. If you love your shoulders/arms, go with a strapless look or a bra with dainty straps. If you’d rather minimize your arms, you can also rock a strapless look along with a cover-up for your arms to make you feel more comfortable. Avoid pieces that are too bulky in the neck/shoulder region, or otherwise the eyes will be drawn to vs. away from. If you want to hide a tummy, one-pieces with emphasis on a waistline work wonders, as well as high-waisted panties for two-piece sets. Avoid lingerie that floats away from the tummy and hips (such as baby dolls and some rompers) as they tend to add width to the hips. Lean ladies, if you’d like to ADD curviness to your figure, baby dolls and pieces that go OUT at the hips can help create a more emphasized curve to your shape!

SNUG vs. FIT vs. LOOSEMake sure your outfits fit properly! If you’ve never been fitted for a Bra, I highly recommend getting measured so you can get the perfect fit for your lingerie! If your pieces are too snug, you’ll get pulling & bulging in spots that will create unflattering lines. If your pieces are too loose, you’ll get bunching that will keep the final look from appearing tailored and clean. Find pieces that have just the right amount of snug that hugs your body and flatters your shape. Keep in mind when shopping for stockings, that the ones that are “stay ups” tend to grip a little tighter around the thighs and bulge. My suggestion is to get a size or two larger than you normally would, or get the kind that require garters to stay up! Garters are super sexy, of course!

CONFIDENCE is the SEXIEST thing a woman can wear! The most important thing to keep in mind while shopping for your wardrobe is that you need to feel confident, sexy, and

YOU.

ACCESSORIZEShoes: I suggest a nude heel or pump, a black heel, a neutral open toed heel, and something super sexy (such as ankle straps!) that showcases your personality and coordinates with your outfits.

Jewelry: For earrings, diamond studs, pearl drops, statement drops, and dangles are all great, versatile options. If you have shorter hair, drops and dangles will keep your neck looking long and feminine. If you have long hair, studs and little drops add just the right amount of interest without taking away from your gorgeous eyes and hair. Dainty bracelets and bangles keep the hands feminine. For necklaces, layered beads/pearls, long dainty chains, short bulky diamonds, and statement necklaces. Statement necklaces and short bulky jewelry look great on strapless or braless looks.

Belts: Leaner ladies, thin belts bring the eye to your waist. Curvy ladies, wide-band belts bring your waist in and flatter your curves!

TEXTURE VS. PATTERNBe careful when putting your pieces together to keep things from getting too busy! Too many patterns or textures in one outfit can get crowded and make it look less put together. Mix patterns with solids (such as patterned panties with a solid cardigan or sweater). If you’re not sure, choose textures over patterns (such as lace, leather, chiffon etc) and pair with a simple neutral.

OUTSIDE THE BOXA blazer over some high waisted panties, or a trench coat over a corset & stockings, the options are endless! Don’t be afraid to raid your closet for your favorite everyday pieces that we can turn into a seductive look. Pencil skirts, dresses, jackets, leather leggings, short-shorts, curve-hugging jeans. Try your favorite jeans without a bra with a statement necklace or some panties, stockings and a leather jacket. Get creative and have fun with your looks!

THE DETAILSDon’t forget to iron/steam and hang pieces before your session. Garment bags are a great way to keep your outfits from wrinkling and can also be great ways to keep your looks organized! Also, be sure to remove tags and labels from lingerie, especially in pieces with see-through fabric!

THE MORE THE MERRIERWe will likely have time for 3 outfits during your session as well as little black dress or white sheet photos. Make sure you pack your top 3-5 outfits as well as any shoes, jewelry, scarves/veils, or accessories that you think you MIGHT want to incorporate into your session. I’m all about being over prepared vs. under prepared, so if you think you might want to incorporate it, bring it! While you’re getting dolled up, we’ll put your final looks together.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!

From directing the placement of your hands to your facial expressions, you never have a reason to feel unsure. You will go from novice to ModelStatus by the time your session is over! Honestly, more often than not, your natural movements are gorgeous as they are and hardly need any direction! I will guide you through all the poses in your session – paying special attention from your fingers to your toes. You can relax during your shoot knowing that I will only ever set you up into poses that flatter your shape and help to showcase your personality and the look you’re wanting to capture. If you have any poses or ideas you want to try, send them to me prior to your session, and we’ll try and incorporate the inspiration!

RELAXIt’s totally normal to have butterflies the day of your session, but I promise you’ll relax once you arrive. Relax and enjoy your pampering experience! Once we begin shooting, you’ll soon find yourself relaxing even more. Many of my clients have said their experience was a ton of fun and they felt comfortable and like they were a part of creating some art together!

Have Fun!

Here are a series of images from Pinterest and other resources to give you some inspiration and helpful tips when

putting together your wardrobe for your boudoir session!

Hugs your curves and mimimizes the tummy area. Emphasizes the breasts and neckline. Photographs beautifully as well as keeps you feeling comfortable. The proper posing

will give you a defined waistline.

Just like shapewear with just a little more coverage. Gives a “I’m just getting ready” look. Strapless, full coverage, and

braless slips to find the right fit for you.

Pair with a black lace bra and you have a complete look! Great for bustierwomen!

That’s a Slip from Walmart + a Bra from Target! Sexy doesn’t have to be expensive!

This type of coverup acts as a fabric to drape over your curves. It adds interest to your outfit, gives you something fun to play with, and adds a little extra coverage if you’re

self-conscious about your arms.

These are my absolute favorite & think they flatter almost every body shape! High-waisted panties that hit you at the

smallest part of your waist will draw the eye in. They’re easy to accessorize in many ways, and captures a fun, vintage/

classic vibe while giving your curves a gorgeous silhouette! (Look for it in the shapewear area! Black and Nude are the

most versatile!)

If you feel sexiest in your comfiest sweater and a pair of cheekies, bring them and rock them out! Sometimes all you

need to be sexy is a little bit of that “I woke up like this” look ;)

This is a great way to bring out your style and a touch of sexy fashionista!

Note: Contrast of color makes this Leather & Lace

look a little “Good Girl gone Badass”

Note: No panties ;) Note: Sexy matching bra and panty

Note: OR, go bold for alittle more vixen!

Note: Go ClassicSeductress with a classictrench coat & stockings

Classic & minimal and so many ways to use them!

This is a great way to bring out your style and a touch of sexy fashionista!

Wanting to capture that old Hollywood Glam style? Here’s some ideas!

Fur shawls are SO classic glam!

Bring a Little Black Dress(or another color!) and we

PAYMENT OPTIONS3 & 6 month payment plans available, ask for details

How far ahead should I book my session?2-6 months in advance will give ample time to brainstorm, select your outfits and prepare for your session. Sessions are available on short notice, based on availability, so don’t hesitate to ask!

May I bring a friend? You are welcome to invite a female friend to join you while you are getting pampered! When we begin shooting, it will just be the two of us, but she is free to hang out, go shopping, or grab some coffee while we’re in the studio having our fun!

I’m not good at posing, can I do something like this?Absolutely! All the women you see in my portfolio are 100% real, everyday gorgeous women, not models! This experience requires absolutely no experience, and you will be guided throughout the whole process, and you will be prepared as we discuss the details together leading up to your session date!

I have blemishes and/or insecurities....?Whilst shooting at your session, I keep a note of all the features you love about yourself, & the features you wish to minimize; only placing you in poses that are sure to flatter your figure & bring focus to the places you are most confident, & maybe even some places you were unsure about. Basic skin retouching & artistic editing is included in your session.
