- Glass (a bottle)- Plastic (a bottle)- Metal : steel or
aluminium (can)
An exception : Tetra Brik is made using several materials.

Why are we making bottles using different
materials (glass, plastic, metal) ?

Our idea : every material has an advantage over
the others… Which one ?

Material Advantage
Glass The bottle is beautiful, transparent and doesn’t break if you press.
Plastic The bottle is light, transparent and cheap.
Metal The can is light.
Different materials…
Materials have disadvantages too…
Different materials…
Material Disadvantage
Glass The bottle is heavy and breaks in case of impact (and could cut our fingers).
Plastic The bottle gets out of shape and can be broken.
Metal The can could cut our lips or our tongue. It’s impossible to close again the can.

How could we take advantage of that ?
